New Zealand tours in May 2025

Autumn is the unsung hero of shoulder season travel

With valleys of vivid color and snow-capped mountains, New Zealand really pulls out all the stops this season. Spend the cool but sunny days of May partaking in any number of activities. Hike to waterfalls in The Caitlins, learn of tribal life from an elder in Murupara or sit back and relax in one of New Zealand’s many natural hot pools. Thrill seekers can get their fix, too. From bungee jumping or sky diving to jet boat riding or heli hiking – it’s really a choose-your-own-adventure in the Land of the Kiwis.

This group trip can be action packed with zip lining and white water rafting just 2 of the many options. But it’s also suitable if you enjoy a group trip to see beautiful NZ. The accommodation is comfortable and our guide was first class with unsurpassed local knowledge that gets you those special places.

Queenstown Southern Loop

Kelsey · Traveled May 2023
Great trip to see more remote areas of the South Island with a guided group - nice for solo travelers. Can see all types of weather in one day, so pack layers! A fairly quick pace with more time to relax on Stewart Island. Recommend the glow worm cave tour and kiwi bird experience add-ons.

Active New Zealand: Wanaka

MEI · Traveled May 2023
I enjoyed everyday activities of this trip provided. Queenstown & Wanaka are the most beautiful places you must visit. I especially enjoyed Rob Roy Glacier Hiking. The sceneries from start point Wanaka town to end are stunning. The most beautiful walk I have done so far. I also enjoyed Dunstan Cycling Trail. Extremely scenic in the autumn, the views over the lake Dunstan & surrounding mountains is simply stunning. Thanks for our tour guide, Rob Griffith, he was very helpful and knowledgeable throughout these 4 days trip, his skilled experience certainly made this trip memorable, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
