Adventure travel redefined.
Over 30 years ago, Intrepid was formed by a group of friends road-tripping through Africa in a modified ex-council truck. With that same wide-eyed thirst for discovery, we created Expeditions: our most unique range of trips that bring you to often overlooked, off-the-grid, far-from-the-usual destinations. All it takes is an expert local leader, like-minded travelers and a healthy sense of adventure to find your perfect Intrepid Expedition.

Vanuatu Expedition
Charlotte · Traveled August 2024
Vanuatu is a beautiful, fascinating country and would absolutely recommend this trip to explore it! Getting to visit different islands and do such an array of activities was so much fun and our guide, Allan, was fantastic, giving us so much information and loads of stories along the way. Loved this trip, if you're even considering visiting Vanuatu, this is your sign to book this trip now!

This is a fantastic tour! The volcano was a trip highlight but learning about the way of living and the cultural experiences we had made it very meaningful. Highly recommended this tour!

The itinerary started out well, but petered out. The final two days we were left to our own devices with no programmed activity including one day stuck in a grim resort hotel in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do. Seeing the orang utans was awesome though.

For those wishing to have an authentic travel experience, please try Timor-Leste. Lovely people, tasty food, natural beauty and history worth learning about.

Tanjun Puting is amazing, we saw many orangutans and our local guide Hakim was excellent. However, the itinerary is quite misleading in places, for example it is suggested we might see orangutans in Sebangu however, whilst there are orangutans living there, you will not see them in the dry season due to the fruiting conditions. Also, the BOSF sanctuary is permanently closed to the public so you won't be going there either. Overall, the trip was outstanding and I would recommend but Intrepid does need to update the itinerary and trip info so it better reflects the experience.
