For a photographer, Antarctica is too good to pass up! From early morning iceberg shots, to whales breaching off the deck of the ship, there are so many amazing opportunities for aspiring and experienced photographers alike.

Take full advantage of the beauty of this region with our Polar Photography Workshop, an in-depth program offered on our Ocean Endeavour voyages that offers the expertise and experiences to bring your photography skills to the next level.

Is the Photography Workshop Program for you?

Our onboard Photography Workshop Program is an opportunity for photography enthusiasts of any skill level to fast track their learning on board, gain access to expert advice and to make photography a focus of your expedition with us. We understand that for many – whether a seasoned professional or a beginner – this voyage is your photographic opportunity of a lifetime. For those wishing to come home with that award winning Gentoo penguin image or just wanting more time to perfect an iceberg shot that will one day hang on your wall, the Photography Program is designed to give you the time, advice, equipment and opportunity to make sure you walk off the gangway with all the photographs you envisioned and more. By joining this program, you will also have exclusive access to ride in our forward-facing rigid inflatable Explorer Boats – that get you to the action faster, travel further to discover more and allow you the space to get creative.

What to expect

Our onboard photography workshop is an opportunity for photography enthusiasts of any skill level to fast track their learning on board and gain access to expert advice. Led by our experienced photography guides, this workshop allows participants the exclusive access to ride in our forward facing Explorer boats to get that perfect shot, as well as dedicated photography lectures led by experts in the field.

Secure your place

The photography workshop is offered on a selection of Intrepid’s Antarctic voyages, and space is limited so we recommend booking ahead to secure your place. The photography workshop has a maximum of 20 spots per voyage. Simply ask our team when you book and they’ll be able to assist you.

What experience is required?

This is not an advanced photography course, but more so a chance to maximize your photographic opportunities throughout the excursion and accelerate your learning of the craft. We've designed the syllabus of the program to cater for all levels of ability.

Is equipment provided?

As our Photography Program will cover instructions from taking photos to editing them, we encourage photographers to bring their own camera and other photography equipment as well as their devices to transfer and process images.
