UK walking highlights
Do the classic walks of Scotland
There are a few ways to uncover the charm of Scotland – like listening to locals playing the fiddle in a pub in Glasgow, sipping on whisky at a local distillery or setting off on some of the country's most iconic walks. Whether your feet are itching to hike the Devil’s Staircase as part of the West Highland Way or you’ve already got your camera out at the thought of the views from Ben Nevis, walking showcases the best of Scotland's scenery.
Go hiking in the scenic Lake District
Few places have the natural trifecta of breathtaking countryside, fascinating wildlife and cultural heritage, but the Lake District is one of them. Whether you’re itching to get out onto a scenic trail, wander close to serene waterways or challenge yourself to hike England’s tallest peak, there’s plenty to keep the adventurer in you occupied. And when you get thirsty, there’ll be a pint waiting for you at the end of the day. What more could you want?
Take in the history of Hadrian’s Wall
You’ve probably heard of Hadrian’s Wall – you know, the 134-kilometre-long structure of defensive fortification built in AD122? But have you ever thought of walking along it? Marrying the best of pre-British history with the natural beauty of the English countryside, discover the ancient ruins (and the stories that go with it) alongside a knowledgeable leader and fellow history buffs on this seven-day exploration.
Walk the beautiful Cornish Coastline
There’s no better place to bask in the freshness of the great English outdoors than in Cornwall – the land of golden sandy beaches and meat-filled pasties. Set at a slower pace so you can really take your time to enjoy the windswept cliffs, charming harbour towns and lush wilderness of the Lappa Valley, this ‘unpack-once’ adventure will have you crushing on the Cornish Coast.

Can’t recommend this trip enough - it was amazing and beyond my expectations. The history, the hiking and the landscape were all 10 out of 10. If you’re dithering - do it!

If you love walking through beautiful and spectacular landscapes and you’re also into discovering history first-hand, this is the trip for you. The daily walking is very well planned, the visits to historical sites are fascinating, and the accommodation is great. We were lucky to have a fabulous leader and some very benign weather. Loved it.

If you like your exercise with a healthy dose of history, this trip is for you. Walking 5-10 miles every day at an easy pace, we got to see what remains of Hadrian’s Wall, other sights, and open stretches of the English countryside. Visits to Roman ruins and museums provided context, and our amazing group leader Kerry was knowledgeable about everything from local history to the geography and plants. Accommodations exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this trip as well as some training hikes, which will not be wasted once you hit the hills.

The trip was absolutely incredible. We embarked on a 6-day nature walk non-stop, encountering a mix of sunny, rainy, and windy days – the classic Highland weather. The entire journey was impeccably organized, making it simple to adapt to your body's needs. Andrew and Ramsay were wonderfully kind and professional, ensuring everyone was taken care of throughout the hike.
