Middle East family vacations

Get ready for an anything-but-ordinary family vacation in the Middle East

The Pyramids of Egypt. The alien rock formations of Turkey. The buoyant blue waters of the Dead Sea. For most young travelers (and maybe even you too), these places exist only in the imagination. But once you’ve slept under the stars in Wadi Rum, shared a home-cooked meal with a Nubian family or explored the ancient underground city of Kaymakli, this region feels less like the ‘Middle East’ than the center of the universe. With a balanced itinerary of enriching activities and downtime, these trips will fuel dinner table conversations long after you return home.

Why choose us

Small, family-only groups

Our average group size of 10 (usually 3 to 5 like-minded families) means we can use local transport, eat at family-run restaurants, and stay in traditional guesthouses and homestays. All relations are welcome – as long as you’re with a child aged between 5 and 17, you’re a family in our eyes.

Designed by parents

We know one of the hardest parts of family travel is keeping the kids entertained, which is why our trips have loads of fun, educational activities for both children and grown-ups. We try to keep travel time to a minimum, use hotels with pools where we can and include plenty of free time to do your own thing. Your leader can also suggest activities based on your kids’ hobbies or curriculum.

Small groups

Our groups are small enough to avoid the crowds and reach out-of-the-way places, but big enough for a good social mix. Our average group size of 10 allows us to hop aboard local boats, buses or trains, eat at family-run restaurants, and stay in traditional guesthouses and homestays.

Kid-friendly itineraries

Boredom? Nope. The biggest challenge of traveling with kids is keeping them entertained, which is why our trips have plenty of fun activities and free time. We try to keep traveling time to a minimum and use hotels with pools. Your leader can also suggest activities based on your kid’s hobbies or curriculum.

Safety first

Our leaders are specially trained to run family adventures, so you and the kids will be well taken care of. You can also rest easy knowing we conduct safety assessments on all our activities to meet local standards as well as our own comprehensive safety policy.

Travel that gives back

Making a difference has been part of our journey from day one. Through our non-profit, The Intrepid Foundation, we support organizations driving change around the world. And as a certified B Corp, we’re committed to doing good through the joy of travel.
