Why you'll love this trip
  • The Tour du Mont Blanc is undoubtably one of Europe’s most iconic and beautiful long-distance treks. Enjoy a week of hiking to the backdrop of snow-capped peaks, lakes, glaciers and mountain pastures.
  • Comfortable and clean hotels & lodges are included each night, plus a remote family-run mountain auberge in the heart of valley of Les Chapieux, offering up truly magnificent views of the surrounding mountains.
  • Take a load off – literally! Your luggage will be transferred between your accommodation each day, meaning you’ll only have to carry a day pack, and your luggage will be waiting at your hotel.
  • Filling breakfasts, picnic lunches and hearty dinners are included on each walking day – fuelling up for your explorations couldn’t be easier (or more delicious!).
  • With an experienced and highly qualified International Mountain Leader by your side every step of the way, you can rest assured that you’re in safe hands.

Is this trip right for you?
  • This is a hiking trip and some of the sections are demanding. You must be fit and in good health in order to join this trip. Please carefully read descriptions of all hikes in the day to day itinerary. If need be, please start preparing for this trip physically 4 to 6 weeks prior to your departure.
  • Be sure to bring the appropriate gear required for alpine hikes. See the ‘Packing’ section of the Essential Trip Information for more detail.
  • Luggage transfer included is for 1 piece of luggage per person with a strict weight restriction of 9kg and packed in a soft bag/duffle bag or a rucksack.
  • This trip visits points over 2500m, where there is a risk of being affected by Acute Mountain Sickness. Please be aware of the symptoms and let your leader know if you or any of your fellow travellers experience any.
  • This is a point-to-point walking trip, allowing you to access remote and beautiful parts of the alps. However, this also means once you start a day’s walk, there’s no turning back – so be prepared!
  • On this trip you must pack as lightly as possible because you will be expected to carry your own bag and although you won't be required to walk long distances with your luggage (max 30 minutes), we strongly recommend keeping the weight between 15kg / 33lb. Most travellers carry their luggage in a backpack, although an overnight bag with a shoulder strap would suffice if you travel lightly. Smaller bags or backpacks with wheels are convenient although we recommend your bag has carry straps to accommodate the cobbled streets, uneven surfaces, stairs and steps you are likely to encounter while carrying your luggage. You'll also need a day pack/bag to carry water and a camera etc for day trips.

Incredible itinerary, incredible mountains and people. The itinerary needs updating, elevation numbers are off, some of the accommodations are wonderful, 2 need reviewing. Make sure you are fit for 1000m gains in the morning!

This excursion was everything I hoped for. Incredible landscape, challenging but moderate physical exertion, great people, fun, and our guide, Danny, was knowledgeable and charismatic and really made the trip special. I would definitely use Intrepid again.

I was disappointed with this intrepid trip. There didn’t seem to be a lot of communication of organization. I had signed up for the single supplement, but they were unable to accommodate me. Another female and male had their single rooms, but intrepid forced them to share a room at the refugee, even though the guidelines say, they would not put you with a different sex person. They didn’t try to do it again the following night until the individuals put their foot down. This trip was a lot more challenging than I thought it would be, but the views were worth it. Basically, this trip isn’t a guy to trip if you can’t keep up with the fast people. The guy does not stay back so you get no commentary from them. Basically they show you the Way in the hotel at night but you’re on your own if you’re not a very fast hiker. I’m glad I got to hike through the Alps, but the cost definitely wasn’t worth it.

Hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc with Intrepid was the experience of a lifetime. It was planned in such a thoughtful way. I will never forget the beautiful scenery I experienced, the amazing food we tasted, and the camaraderie of a bunch of strangers pulling together to accomplish this trek. Our guide, Mario, gave us the best experience.
