You’ll kick off with a welcome meeting at 6 pm, where you’ll get to know your new travel companions and local leader. If you arrive early, maybe explore Skanderbeg Square, ride the Dajti Ekspres cable car or visit the Bunk’Art Museum – an underground Cold War bunker turned art and history exhibit. Later this evening, maybe walk through the colourful Pazari i Ri (New Bazaar) for local food and find a place to eat dinner with your group.

There are no meals included on this day.
It’s very important that you attend the welcome meeting as we will be collecting insurance and emergency contact details at this time. If you're going to be late, please let your travel agent or hotel reception know. Ask reception or look for a note in the lobby for more information on where the meeting will take place.
Today, you’ll leave Tirana and begin your journey north through the Albanian countryside. Your first stop is the beautiful Mrizi i Zanave agrotourism farm, where you’ll sit down for a delicious Albanian-style brunch. Everything you’ll taste is organic and either produced right on the farm or sourced from the surrounding area. After lunch, continue your drive toward Montenegro, taking in scenic views as the landscape shifts from rolling hills to dramatic mountain ranges. You’ll arrive at your accommodation in Vusanje in the afternoon, where the rest of your evening is yours to enjoy. Maybe take time to explore the property or simply unwind in the fresh mountain air as you settle into the peaceful surroundings.

Before you book you should know
- This is a hiking trip, so a good level of fitness is essential. Expect long days (up to 9 hours) and hikes of up to 15 km (9.3 mi) a day, with over 1500 m (4921 ft) of elevation gain. Be prepared for remote mountain regions and unpredictable weather. You will take short transfers between your accommodation and the start and end point of the hikes. These drives can often be quite bumpy.
- Some hikes are point-to-point with no shortcuts or possibility to turn back. Review the descriptions carefully to ensure you’re comfortable with the time, distance and terrain.
- The final stretch from the Saddle of Farumi to the summit of Rosni peak (Day 6) offers a rewarding but challenging ascent. For your safety and enjoyment, the trip leader will assess conditions on the day to determine whether the group will continue to the summit. This decision will take into account the group’s abilities, weather conditions and the time of arrival at the Saddle of Farumi, ensuring the best possible experience for all participants.
- Pack lightly as you’ll need to carry your own bag. Although you won’t walk long distances with your luggage (max 30 minutes), aim to keep it under 15 kg (33 lb). Bringing a soft duffel bag or a backpack is essential as on certain hikes we will use mules to transport it to our next overnight stop. You’ll also need a daypack/small bag for water and personal items during day trips.
1. A single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement applies to all nights of your trip and is subject to availability. Please speak to your booking agent for further information.
2. Due to unpredictable weather in shoulder seasons (early to mid-June and early to mid-September) some hikes may need to be adjusted or even replaced. We will always aim to provide equally interesting and picturesque hikes of similar difficulty.
