Why you'll love this trip
  • Uncover the local specialties of Asturia and Galicia, sampling true Asturian cider poured in the traditional style, and eating fresh Galician mussels straight from the sea in A Coruna.
  • Few places know how to do a farmer’s market better than Potes, so lap up all of the food traditions with an included market brunch of delicious regional offerings.
  • Learn the difference between pinxtos and tapas with a number of opportunities to crawl around town, tasting the local fare – Logrono’s Old Town has some of the best in the country.
  • In between market visits and tapas tastings, discover the medieval history and charming cobbled laneways of Northern Spain, stopping off for a glass of the local drop to soak up your surroundings.
  • Learn from local experts with cooking demonstrations and classes, highlighting regional specialities like Cocido Lebaniego.

Is this trip right for you?
  • The cuisine of Spain includes a lot of meat and seafood. For vegetarians and vegans we recommend reviewing the itinerary and inclusions to ensure that you will be able to fully participate and enjoy this trip. We also have many other trips to Spain which can accommodate a range of dietary requirements.
  • There's some transferring to-and-from different forms of transport on this trip. You'll need to carry your own luggage on and off transport, so make sure it doesn't exceed our weight and size recommendations. You can find this information in the 'Packing' section of the Essential Trip Information.
  • Summer temperatures in the areas visited can be very high (up to 40 degrees Celsius), which can be uncomfortable. It's important to use sun protection, wear layers to combat the heat and drink plenty of water. Please consider the time of the year you wish to travel and your suitability to that season.
  • Space is at a premium in Europe and your hotel is no exception. Rooms are often small, but usually the central location makes up for that. For those travelling as a duo, hotels in Europe often don't have double beds, but rather two single beds that can be pushed together.

This is not a trip for a vegetarian - it's most definitely for people who love meat, fish and wine, and exploring food they've not experienced beforehand. For meat and fish lovers it's perfect.

I really enjoyed this trip, not only been able to eat food from different provinces in Spain but visiting places I would have not done otherwise.

This trip was everything I had hoped for! We had a small group and an amazing guide who helped us taste wonderful food and drink all across Spain. The tour made everything so easy and every meal was delicious. Highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to guarantee a great food experience without having any of the hassel.

This tour is an in depth exploration of the diverse historical and cultural variety of Spain's food culture. The amazing range of tastes and flavours explored across our 10 days were phenomenal. Cannot recommend enough. If you're lucky enough to get Olalla as a guide, you will have simply the best time.

If you are deciding whether to take this trip, do it! We had a fabulous time exploring a very different part of Spain. The itinerary and food were varied and interesting. Olalla is a fantastic guide and made sure our group of 7 got the most out of every moment. She was careful, clear, informative and great fun. Be prepared for a couple of long transfers. The hotels used (with one exception) were fine to excellent.
