From turquoise waters to the red, rocky outback, Western Australia has it all.
This 8-day adventure is the perfect taste of the best bits of Australia’s nature. Spend time soaking up sun and snorkelling in Turquoise Bay at Ningaloo Reef – keeping an eye out for the famous whale sharks the whole time – before heading inland. You’ll pass classic outback scenes of auburn landscape and limitless horizons before arriving at Karijini National Park, where you’ll have a chance to learn about the ancient culture of the Banyjima, Kurrama and Innawonga people, the traditional owners of the land. Swim in the secluded natural pools and hike through the vibrant gorges as you disconnect from the world and connect with the land around you.
Enjoy the turquoise waters of Ningaloo Reef, where you’ll have views of the rich and diverse marine life and colourful coral underneath.
Drive to the top of the gorge for limitless views of Cheela Plains, where you’ll have the chance to enjoy sunset drinks and dinner around the campfire.
Explore the highlights of Karjini National Park, including West Karijini, Hancock Gorge, Kermit’s Pool, Junction Pool and many other special gems in the area.
Spend time relaxing in the amazing rocky environment of Hamersley Gorge, and cool off with a dip in the Jade Pools.
This trip requires a moderate to good level of fitness as it involves some walking, allowing you to really get among nature. Please bring sturdy, comfortable walking shoes and comfortable clothing.
For your time in Karijini National Park you will be accompanied by a second guide, which will give you the option between more physically demanding walks, or more moderate walks.
Just as a heads up before you book: this trip is new to our range this year. And while we have thoroughly researched every detail of the logistics, new destinations can sometimes throw us some unexpected surprises. More often than not, it’ll be a great surprise. But every now and again there might be a hiccup. We like to think that’s what puts the ‘adventure’ in ‘adventure travel’.
It's challenging to find accommodation at comfort standard in this region and so accommodation may not meet the expectation of our usual comfort trips.
Trip departures are unavailable.
There are currently no scheduled departures on our Ningaloo Reef & Pilbara Adventure trip. If you are interested in other trips in the region visit one of the links below.
Due to the challenge of finding suitable accommodation in this region you will experience a mix of standards on this trip. Accommodation in Karijini and the Pilbara Outback are basic permanent tented camps with shared facilities, while our hotel in Exmouth is a very comfortable choice.
SWIMMING WITH WHALE SHARKS
Swimming with whale sharks is not included on this trip and is an optional activity. It is very important that you pre book any Whale Shark experiences, as this can sell out far in advance. Please also note that whale sharks visit the region between mid-March and mid-September only, so please make sure you schedule your trip accordingly if you would like to include this experience in your trip.
A single supplement is available to be booked on this trip, subject to availability. It covers all nights of this trip, except nights 4 and 5 in Karijini National Park. Please speak to your booking agent for more details.
