Why you'll love this trip

  • Step back in time among the olive groves, ancient villages and medieval architecture of Amalfi. This town retains a rustic charm, and you’ll have plenty of time to explore before you set sail.

  • Explore the caves of Capri’s Grotta Azzura (Blue Grotto) and swim in the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean as you while away the day on board your small yacht.

  • If it was good enough to be the holiday destination of Roman emperors, the idyllic city of Capri is good enough for anyone. Let the isle’s history captivate you as you spend the day exploring with your small group.

  • With its pastel buildings and tranquil marina, mooring in the town of Procida is an ideal place to relax by the sea with an apertif or explore on foot.

  • What to do when you’re not sailing or exploring, you ask? Eating, of course. With delicious regional cuisine and some freshly caught seafood hauled in locally each day, you definitely won’t go hungry.

Is this trip right for you?

  • As the majority of this trip takes place on a sailing boat, you’ll need to feel comfortable with moving about the vessel, including the use of stairs. With that said, sea legs come naturally to some but not so much for others. Your friendly crew will be able to help with the effects of sea sickness if needed. A Zodiac is used to transport passengers from the boat to the mainland, with landings taking place at piers (dry landings) as well as on beaches (wet landings). Zodiacs can sometimes be awkward to climb in and out of, but a sense of humour and can-do attitude is all you need.

  • This is an adventure on board a real yacht, which means living spaces, cabins, bathrooms and showers need to be shared with other passengers. Sleeping quarters can be quite compact, but you will be spending the majority of your time above board in the open air.

  • Time on the water also means time in the sun. Remember to pack sun protection, such as sun screen and a hat, and drink plenty of water to keep hydrated. See the Essential Trip Information below for a full packing list.

  • Please note that smooth sailing is dependent on the weather, so itinerary changes may occur at the last minute if the weather becomes unfavourable. If any changes are made, you can trust in your knowledgeable skipper to choose an alternative route or activity.

  • Due to the size of the yachts, sound carries easily from one side to the other and can wake your fellow travellers. If you’re planning to have a late night, it’s a good idea to head into town and experience the local nightlife.

After stopping by the local supermarket with your group leader to pick up supplies for your sail, the rest of the day is yours to discover Amalfi. With your free time, you could check out the medieval architecture of Sant'Andrea Cathedral and Cappuccini Convent. You may like to take a walk along narrow trails through olive groves, vineyards and ancient villages. While the trails are steep and full of stairs, there are spectacular views over the ocean at regular intervals. In the evening, why not join an optional dinner with your group full of local seafood and gelato. Tonight will be spent on board the boat.

If you have any special dietary requirements, please make sure you notify at the time of booking so your requests can be accommodated.

The beauty of sailing is that each day is unique and, while we have a destination to reach, if the weather changes or something takes the group’s fancy, we are flexible on the day's itinerary. The itinerary is subject to change and may vary depending on weather and berth availability. Your skipper will make the final call to ensure your safety at all times.
Today, set sail to the Isle of Capri – once home to the magnificent holiday palaces of the Roman emperors. After we arrive in Capri, there is an opportunity to take an optional excursion in a small motorboat and circumnavigate the Isle of Capri. View the island and its impressive cliffs and many grottos; visit the green, white and of course the famous Blue Grotto. To enter the Blue Grotto, you'll need to switch to a smaller row boat and although swimming in the grotto isn’t permitted, there’s a small platform close by where you can take a dip. After this there will time to catch the bus to the Town of Capri or visit the Hillside town of Annacapri. If you head to Anacapri, it's worth visiting the Villa San Michele – the former home to a Swedish doctor that's built on the ruins of a Roman villa. Make your way to Capri Town by the Phoenician Steps (Scala Fenicia), which is a long, steep stairway that links the towns of Capri and Anacapri. A moderate level of fitness and comfortable shoes are required if you decide to climb the steps.

This morning, sail to Procida. If the conditions are right we can visit one of the quieter beaches of Pozzo Vecchio. Located in a horseshoe shaped bay, the beach is sheltered from the wind and waves and is famous locally for being the scene of the film the 'The Postman'. Weather depending, you may be able to swim straight off the back of the boat! On the way back to the main marina, we sail past Marina Della Corricella and see one of the most photographed parts of this island. Tonight, enjoy a group dinner, in town, of rabbit stew or seafood, local wine and some Limoncello.

Important notes

START TIME:
This trip starts on Day 1 in Amalfi at 1 pm and finishes in Procida on the morning of Day 4 depending on weather conditions.

ACCOMMODATION ONBOARD THIS SAILING YACHT
This trip is accommodated entirely on board a yacht of between 48ft to 52ft. A typical yacht for 8 travellers is equipped with 4 double share cabins, 2/3 shared bathrooms and 2 showers. Our boats are real yachts and this is a real sailing trip. Yachts are designed to keep sleeping areas to the absolute minimum of space, while maximising common areas as much as possible.

Rooms are allocated on arrival by our skipper according to group composition, which means it is not possible to reserve or guarantee any specific berth or cabin. Single passengers will be paired up with another passenger of the same gender, this will mean sharing a double cabin with a double mattress. Everyone including the skipper shares the bathrooms on board.

While not everyone may feel entirely comfortable living in such close quarters, those who are looking to revel in the adventure and exhilaration of an authentic sailing trip usually find any discomfort from cramped living conditions is more than made up for by the whole experience.

MINIMUM AGE:
The minimum age on this trip is 15. Please note that triple cabins are not available. If travelling with a child, the child will need to share with one of the adults, and the other adult will share with another adult passenger, or purchase a single supplement.

PASSPORT DETAILS:
Please provide full passport details at time of booking including exact name as per passport, date of birth, nationality, issue and expiry dates as these are essential for booking services on this trip.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS:
Dietary requirements are required at the time of booking so that any included meals can be properly catered for.

ADDITIONAL ACCOMMODATION:
Please note that the majority of our sailing trips start and/or finish at a marina or port. If you have pre-booked any additional accommodation through us, you will need to make your own way to the joining point on Day 1 and from the finish point on the final day. We do not provide transfers between hotels and the port/marina. Please check the Essential Trip Information for details.

SNORKELLING
There are many opportunities for snorkelling during this trip. Diving masks, snorkels and fins are provided onboard the yacht and are for use by all passengers. They are disinfected prior to use. Some customers may prefer to bring their own diving mask and snorkel from home and just use the fins available on board.
