Mexico Tours & Holidays

Peel back the lucha libre mask and you’ll find a patchwork of cultures and customs mixed into one tequila-drenched country.

The gregarious locals are just as likely to pull you up for a dance at one of Mexico City’s hip-shaking salsa clubs as they are to show you the way to one of the country’s many ancient ruins, all with a casual ‘hola’ and an inviting smile. While our tours get you up close with locals, they also show you the best sights from on and off the gringo trail. You can party until dawn in Playa del Carmen, eat your way into a food coma in Oaxaca, or, best of all, kick back with a horchata in the lazy seaside port of Merida.

Mexico Real Food Adventure

This was a very fun trip made super fun by leader Susanna! We learned a lot about food as it every day folk of the areas we visited. Two cooking classes, not to check in that color, which was perfect for me. I would absolutely take another food trip with Susanna. Great job!

The real food tour is a lovely intro to Mexico! Our guide Suz was great - flexible, personable, and organized. While I had a great time - I recommend Intrepid change this to just an urban trip - skipping Huatulco and adding a night in Puebla.

This tour was poor to average. Our guide was excellent but the accommodations were not as advertised. They were either sub par (Hualtuco) or too far from town (Oaxaca). The 8 hr bus trip to Hualtuco was a wasted day. Would have been better spent in Puebla or Oaxaca.

Mexico Real Food Adventure

The Mexico Real Food Tour offered some interesting and tasty experiences. We had an excellent tour guide who took great care of us all. For me the highlight was the time spent in Oaxaca, where we had a cooking class where we prepared multiple dishes and had a merry feast. In Oaxaca we also had an action-packed day when we visited an archeological site, a weaver who gave a demonstration showing the process from raw wool to finished rugs, and we ended the day at a mezcaleria, where the host explained how mezcal is made and we sampled many varieties.
