Your leader will record your travel insurance details on the first day of the trip. Due to the varying nature, availability and cost of health care around the world, travel insurance is an essential part of every journey.

Queensland is a large state that covers several types of climate zones. The southern parts of the state are typically a sub-tropical climate that have warm temperatures and mild winter months.

Summers in Queensland follow the other four-season states, starting in December and lasting until February. This is when the region is at its warmest and most humid.

In the northern areas, the climate is tropical with two distinct seasons: a wet season from November to May and a dry season from June and October.

Temperatures in the summer (December to February) are often in the high 30s with the hottest month being December. It's likely to rain a lot during this period with the highest rainfall in January, February, March, April and December. 

Visitors to Queensland between October and May are advised to wear a ‘stinger suit’ when swimming in the ocean to protect themselves from jellyfish stings.

Because the UV is very strong in Australia and Queensland gets a lot of sun, you’ll need sun-protective clothing such as a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.

Because Queensland is a largely tropical state, you’ll want to pack lightweight clothing, especially if you’re visiting the rainforests and tropics.

Queensland towns can be fairly casual places and generally always have shops where you can find extra items.
