It’s Italy but it’s different
Just a quick 20-minute ferry ride from mainland Italy and you’re in a whole new world: Sicily. The perfect next stop after Venice’s canals and Rome’s ruins, make your way down south to sip wine in the Sicilian countryside while staying in a medieval watchtower, take a traditional cooking class in Palermo and hop on a fishing boat with locals to learn their way of life. Odysseus once journeyed through these lands in The Odyssey - are you ready to follow in his footsteps to a land of mythology, history, and, let's be honest, some seriously good seafood?

Sicily highlights
Tuck away in Taormina
Hidden on the hilltop, Taormina is where ancient Greek glory meets Italian charm. Sip a Sicilian wine on a sun-drenched terrace and savour an espresso in the picture-perfect Piaza IX Aprile. Then relax in the gardens of Villa Comunale before stepping back in time to the Ancient Theatre, which offers unmatched views of snow-capped Mt Etna in the distance.
Hike through lava fields
Mt Etna isn’t just any volcano – it’s Europe's largest active volcano. (But don’t worry, she’s just smouldering these days.) Hike across otherworldly lava fields, explore a lava cave and walk the eerie remains of Piano Provenzana – a ski resort buried by Etna’s last big blast in 2002. How many people can say they’ve walked through the centre of an extinct crater?
Roam through ancient ruins
What was once the mighty city of Akragas is now the site of the ruined temples of great Greek gods like Hera, Herkles and Zues. The ancient ruins of the Valley of Temples is one of the largest archaeological sites in the world, surrounded by myths and legends. As you take in the scale of the Greek structures in Agrigento and Taormina, you can’t help but wonder – how did they do it?
Learn from the locals
Set sail on a traditional fishing boat in the Strait of Messina, where Sicily meets the mainland. Experience local life firsthand, learning time-honoured fishing techniques from the people who call Sicily home. Sicilian sun, locals to learn from and a cold glass of Carricante after? Sounds like a plan.
