It sure is! Zion has trails for all sorts of interests and abilities, like casual riverside walks and challenging hikes – Zion is home to one of the most dangerous hikes in the USA, Angel’s Landing. A lot of the trails are out-and-back, so you can also just turn around when you’re ready to call it a day.  

Zion is also a good park to visit without hiking! If you just want to be surrounded by natural wonders without breaking a sweat, some of the most iconic features of the park are accessible without having to work for them. Like the Towers of the Virgin, which are easily seen from the viewing deck right behind the Zion Human History Museum – they even have seats so you can just sit back, relax and take in the views.

The hikes in Zion range from easy, flat walks to strenuous routes with steep climbs and challenging terrain. There’s seriously something for everyone.  

There’s a lot more to do in Zion than just hiking. You can also explore its landscapes on a camping trip, so you can sleep under the stars. As an International Dark Sky Park, you’ll definitely want to look up once the sun sets. It’s also a great spot for rock climbing, lazy river tubing, canyoneering and more.

Pack comfortable walking shoes, layers to take on and off for changing weather, sun protection and a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. A daypack is always a good idea so you can carry this stuff, but what to bring for clothing depends on what season you go. Winter gets chilly, so you’ll want base layers, a fleece jacket or sweater, a puffy jacket, a beanie and gloves.

Yes, Zion charges a fee for visitors entering the park. For travellers on an Intrepid trip, vehicle entrance fees and required permits are covered, but international visitors will need to pay additional nonresident entrance fees.
