Peru Tours & Holidays

Peru is an indomitable land of deserts etched with ancient geoglyphs, rainforests teeming with wildlife, and soaring peaks harbouring secret cities.

While many travellers come to visit one of South America's most famous sites, the ruins of Machu Picchu, the real Peru lies within its warm, proud inhabitants – many of whom can trace their bloodlines back to the Incas. What you might not expect is the foodie bonanza found in Lima or the adventures that await you in the ancient capital of Cusco. Whether you’re exploring the cobbled streets of Arequipa, bobbing on the floating islands of Lake Titicaca or learning about mummies in Nazca, our Peru tours will have you feeling like a modern-day Indiana Jones. Just don’t forget to pack your fedora.

Inca Trail Express

Well organised and fun trip, bucket list experience. Carmen was an excellent group leader. Encouraging and engaging with excellent knowledge of Incan history. The porters and chefs are also all incredible, bring enough cash to tip generously because they deserve it! (We each paid 200 soles to split between them) Be aware that if you rent a sleeping bag this is 2kg and is included in the 5kg weight limit for the porters. I recommend packing your day pack as light as possible as this will hinder you with the higher ascents during the trek. One roll of toilet paper should be enough. TP is provided at camp and you only really need it during the toilet stops during the hike (I had two rolls and this was too many, took up too much space in my bag). Expect to be off grid for most of the hike (even providers that said they covered the whole trail didn’t). Be prepared for a tough hike, especially days 2 and 3. Prep with a stair master and work on your general fitness before arrival. Also recommend bringing Diamox as you don’t want any altitude sickness to affect your trip.

Had a wonderful experience on my first group trip through Intrepid. Group leaders were very knowledgeable and dedicated to sharing about the history and culture of the communities we visited.

Inca Trail Express

What an incredible experience. This whole trip from start to finish was organized, informative and allowed me to see Peru through the lens of locals. William, our main travel guide was an added bonus. Another perk to this experience, is meeting other travel nomads from around the world that get to share the same experience with you. I look forward to booking more trips with Intrepid in the future.

This tour beyond exceeded my expectations: the food, culture, history, and Inca Trail trek made for a diverse and incredible experience. Our guide was amazing and was so knowledgeable and motivating during the trek. The food and camping facilities were beyond incredible: everything was set up for us and the meals were delicious, varied, and always on time.
