Uzbekistan Tours & Holidays

Experience a remote adventure – well and truly off the tourist trail – in dazzling Uzbekistan.

There are the famous cultural sites we’ve been told we have to visit (here’s looking at you Instagram) and then there are the iconic sites we never knew we had to see. Like the glittering turquoise domes of Registan Square in Samarkand, the breathtaking Kalon Mosque and Minaret in the ancient Silk Road city of Bukhara or the elaborately decorated metro stations of Tashkent. And outside of the cities, Uzbekistan is just as full of surprises – like the traditional villages of the Nuratau Mountains or a desert-bound yurt camp. This is Uzbekistan, in all its charming glory.

Uzbekistan is an amazing place and we saw beautiful and interesting sights throughout the trip. Lochin is an excellent tour leader who made sure we got the most from the trip. I’ve recommended it to everyone since I got back!

Central Asia Explorer

Central Asia Explorer was a trip of a lifetime! What an adventure! Our leader, Echo, was wonderful! She added in a lot of extra stops so we could get to know the locals - an eagle hunter, a yurt builder, herders selling mare's milk! Etc.... Her enthusiasm for Central Asia and Kyrgystan, in particular, was amazing! Don't put off this trip!

An excellent varied trip of two halves. Kyrgyzstan was my favourite because we explored out of the way places set in marvellous rugged mountain landscapes. Train travel in Uzbekistan was fun and we got to see fantastic Islamic sights. Our guide Erkaim and driver Sergai were superb in every respect throughout.

Uzbekistan & Turkmenistan Adventure

Yee · Traveled August 2023
It took 3 years to finally bring this trip to fruition for me. Thank you to Intrepid Travel for helping me move this trip from 2020 to 2021 to 2022 and then to 2023. It was well worth the wait and the fact I did not give up on hoping this trip would run. Both Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan will have a special place in my heart It was more than I had ever expected from these countries. Lochin, you are an amazing leader. Go before it gets super popular.
