Cruises

Forget shuffleboard and cabaret – adventure cruising is all about the destination.

Cruising is an adventure in itself, but the beauty of travelling on a small ship with less than 36 passengers is that the real fun begins when you drop anchor. This way, you'll get to know the locals, rather than outnumber them. You'll still be looked after by your crew and get to relax on the deck with a cold beer, but you'll also get to explore the waterfalls of Krka National Park, snorkel with green turtles in the Galapagos and taste locally produced olive oil, wine and lavender in Croatia. It's about exploring where the big ships can't go, so you can swim in hidden coves, view wildlife on remote islands and listen to live music in cobblestone laneways. This is cruising – Intrepid style.

Where you can go on a cruise

Cruises highlights

Harbor on Rab Island's coastline on Croatia's Dalmation Coast
Dig into Croatia’s coast

There’s a reason Croatia's been crowned the darling of Europe! Cruise through the pristine waters of the Adriatic and taste the best of the country’s bountiful coastline. Visit rolling vineyards for wine tastings, dine on barbecue dinners on the deck of your ship, sample locally produced honey on a Croatian farm and stroll through fragrant fields of lavender. Detour into Bosnia and Herzegovina where you’ll pop into a local coffee shop to see how Bosnian coffee is made and try some yourself.

Galapagos Land Iguana relaxes on a log in forest in Galapagos Islands
Go wild in the Galapagos

When we say go wild, we really mean it. Located just off Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands are a natural playground for wildlife lovers with over 9000 species to discover. Where else can you chill on the beach with a seal or kayak alongside a group of inquisitive penguins? Here, you'll snorkel in shallow coves teeming with green turtles, golden cow-nose rays and Galapagos sharks. Whether you cruise around the central, southern or western islands, you'll be well placed to have unforgettable wildlife encounters on and off the water.

Why choose us

Small ships, small groups

With fewer than 36 passengers on every ship, our groups are the perfect size for really getting to know your fellow travellers. Smaller groups mean more personalised service, like one-on-one chats with your leader about history, culture and food, or your favourite beer handed to you by the bar manager at the end of the day.

Specialised service

We’re right there with you to ensure your adventure is memorable for all the right reasons. Our expert local leaders facilitate incredible land experiences, while the ship’s friendly crew make sure you have everything you need – from a room that’s sparkling clean to a glass of sparkling wine – to enjoy your time on board.

Dining with a local twist

Whether it’s a dining alfresco on the deck at sunset, enjoying the catch-of-the day cooked up by your onboard chef or sitting down for a gourmet breakfast every morning, our culinary experiences are designed to complement your journey and help you create memories you’ll savour forever – both on and off the boat.

Cruise the seas less travelled

Our small ships give you access to those out-of-the-way spots the big ships can’t reach. We’ll show you the guidebook favourites from a new perspective, then cruise away from the crowds so you can stroll through seaside villages, swim in hidden coves, and get a real taste of what life is like for the locals.

A floating boutique hotel

Our ships combine all the comforts and personality of a boutique hotel with the freedom of the open water. Relax in your well-appointed cabin and wake to a different outlook each morning. Enjoy panoramic views from the sun deck, spend time in comfortable lounges and dining rooms, or dine al fresco under the stars.

Croatian Coastal Cruising - Split to Dubrovnik (Aurora)

Deborah · Traveled June 2024
Intrepid has an excellent reputation for great destinations that really support local people. I enjoyed an intrepid tour 10 years ago and was delighted our trip from Split to Dubrovnik exceeded our high expectations. The tour guides and boat crew were magnificent! So highly recommended.

You must do this trip!!! We were a family of 4 with teenage girls. The itinerary was amazing and knowledge of tour leaders outstanding. If you want to see the real Croatia and avoid the tourist trail definitely book this trip.. You will also enjoy the company of like minded travellers. Initially we thought the trip was expensive but when we reflect on the value and experience, we have absolutely no doubt in recommending. Do it!!

This is THE trip to go on to experience Croatia! Being on a small ship cruising around the islands, having extended swim/paddle breaks off the boat, enjoying spectacular scenery and a thoughtfully curated itinerary made this a fabulous experience!

This was such a relaxing, interesting and fun trip. We didn’t want it to end. We had a lower deck cabin which was a good size.

Croatian Coastal Cruising: Dubrovnik to Split (Aurora)

Jonpaul · Traveled June 2024
I thought that Dubrovnik would be the highlight of this trip, but there was so much more to it than that. Korcula and Split were fantastic towns with plenty of history. There was a wetland trip full of dragonflies (maybe we were lucky with the season). The National Park at Krka was my personal highlight for the sheer beauty of the place (again with loads of dragonflies and even a water snake). The guides for our small groups, were awesome and had such great stories about the history (Greek, Roman, Ottoman - who knew there was so much?). And I got to try paddle boarding from the back of the boat. Would defo do this again.
