Surf, sand and sun, the coast is calling this January. Summertime in Peru sees full beaches and big waves. Since the higher regions will be pretty damp this month (thank you wet season), the coastal regions come alive. The rainy season in Peru runs from December to March and the Inca Trail is closed for repairs in February. So, jump aboard a train or trek tour in January to see the Lost City before cooling down in Cusco, setting off for Lake Titicaca, jumping over to the Amazon or venturing back to lively Lima.
