4. March-May 2022 departures only: In December 2021, a devastating bushfire ripped through the Boranup Forest in Western Australia's Southwest region, from Redgate Road in the north to Deepdene Campground in the south. This severely impacted and closed approximately 38km of the famous Cape to Cape Track. Since then, we have been monitoring the continued and updated information provided to us by the Western Australian Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPAW), who determine the safety and appropriateness of whether or not this section of the Cape to Cape can be accessed.
We have been made aware by DPAW that a section through and around the Boranup Forest will remain closed due to the high risk of bushfire re-ignition and falling trees, we will not be able to complete this part of the trail. With the section of the trail that we will not be able to complete, we can make up for it by walking on one of the many other beautiful walks in this region.
We will continue to monitor the status of the Cape to Cape through DPAW, but please know that it is our goal to have you walking on as much of the Cape to Cape Track as possible.
