Why choose Intrepid

The ultimate adventures
Sure, you can travel to India to see the Taj Mahal, but sharing a laugh with a chai wallah in the local market is just as memorable. That’s why we’ve included the big-ticket items, as well as plenty of off-the-grid experiences and free time.

Local leaders, local connections
Travelling with an experienced leader means you can just enjoy the moment, rather than worrying about when the last train leaves! They’ll give you unique insights and take you to places that only the locals know about.

Small (but not too small) groups
Our groups are made up of 10 travellers on average. That’s big enough to create a good vibe, but small enough to explore a destination independently. And if you’re travelling solo, it’s the perfect number of new friends.

A sustainable way to travel
We believe that travelling sustainably is important. Through our not-for-profit The Intrepid Foundation, we are committed to supporting projects around the world – from reducing carbon in the environment to supporting the livelihoods of local communities.

Stay real in cool places
We think where you lay your head at night can be just as cool as what you see during the day. Whether that be sleeping in a jungle lodge in the Amazon, camping under the stars in Utah or snoozing down the Nile on a traditional felucca in Egypt.

Make your money go further
You want big-time experiences without the big-time price tag? Our 18 to 29s travel style means staying in simple, well-located accommodation, taking local transport and enjoying tasty local food, so you choose where your spending money goes.
Inclusions

Local leaders with tips and advice.

A comfy place to stay each night.

Transport to get you from A to B.
Legendary local leaders
As the local experts in each destination, your leader can connect you with experiences you wouldn’t have on your own and make sure you get from A to B smoothly.
Ultimate itineraries
We include both iconic and unexpected experiences in our trips. This means you’ll see the big-ticket attractions of a destination, plus enjoy some surprising local moments too.
Simple, well-located accommodation
All your accommodation is taken care of and rooms are normally twin share. If you’re a solo traveller, you’ll be paired with another solo traveller of the same gender at no extra cost. If you like your privacy, sometimes you’ll have the chance to pay a single supplement for your own room.
Local, sustainable transport
Getting from one place to another each day is included in your trip experience. We like to do things the local way, which can mean anything from Japanese bullet train to a Thai tuk tuk.
A brand-new crew
Whether you’re travelling solo or with friends from home, you’ll never be travelling alone. With an average group size of 10 people, you’ll never be lacking a dinner buddy or someone to snap a photo of you.
Plenty of downtime
We know you want to choose your own adventure sometimes, which is why our trips have plenty of built-in free time. Your local leader will be full of good ideas for epic ways to fill it.
Travel for good
Every time you book an 18 to 29s trip, you'll be planting 50 trees in the world's first travel-powered forest in Kenya.
Our planet is full of beautiful places and creatures that inspire us, but we need to preserve and restore them for the next generation. When you travel with us you'll be directly helping to regenerate the planet you've inherited, with the help of The Intrepid Foundation.
