Absolutely. All passengers travelling with Intrepid are required to purchase travel insurance before the start of their trip. It's important to understand that each country you visit may have its own specific entry requirements, and some destinations mandate travel health insurance for all foreign travellers, regardless of their nationality.

Your leader will record your travel insurance details on the first day of the trip. Due to the varying nature, availability and cost of health care around the world, travel insurance is an essential part of every journey.

The best time to visit Sydney is during the shoulder season months of September to November and March to May, when the weather is still warm but the crowds aren’t as big. These are Sydney’s spring and autumn months, which fall on either side of summer (December to February), the peak season.

However, thanks to its mild weather, Sydney is great to visit any time of year. If you’d like to explore the big sites without the large crowds, the slightly cooler months in the middle of the year could be your best option. If you’d like to make the most of the warmest waters and best beach weather, spring to summer is the best choice.

Sydney’s weather follows the humid subtropical climate, which means it gets nice warm summers and not too cold winters.

The warmest month is January, with maximum temperatures around 28°C and the coolest month is July, with low temperatures around 8°C.

When visiting Sydney, it’s a good idea to pack casual clothes suitable for long days exploring the city. You’ll also want a comfy pair of shoes for any walking tours.

Winter and autumn get the most rain, so you should pack a rain jacket and some warmer clothing during these times. You shouldn’t need a lot of layers as winters are typically mild in Sydney.
