Travellers on our 18 to 35s trips aren't just connected by age but by attitude too. We attract a friendly, open-minded and curious bunch, and many opt to travel alone, so there's no third-wheeling, we promise. Whether you're taking a gap year or are escaping that dreaded cycle of work, eat, sleep, repeat, we guarantee you'll find a travel buddy that matches your speed.

Our trips have a set itinerary, but we know the importance of freedom. We've made sure there’s plenty of time set aside for your own exploration, so you can ask your leader for a few tips and head out alone or hang out with the group and see where the day takes you —no pressure, though.

Most of the time, you’ll be staying in simple, well-located accommodation. In some destinations, you'll stay in multishare dormitories with cool hangouts, in others, you'll stay in a twin-share room in a local hotel with ensuite facilities. We use authentic accommodation wherever possible, so you might find yourself staying in a traditional hanok in South Korea or a local guesthouse in India. 

When rooming in a twin-share, we pair up solo travellers with another traveller of the same gender as per the gender marker on each passport. If your gender identity differs from what is indicated on your passport, please get in touch with us so that we can discuss rooming options with you. If you'd like your own space, some of our trips also have the option to pay a fee for your own room.

Most hotels, cafes and bars have wi-fi, especially in big cities and towns. In more remote places, or on treks or homestays, wi-fi or mobile data may not be as easily accessible. Your leader will give you a heads-up beforehand so you can call home or send a quick WhatsApp. They can also help you buy a local SIM card if you like to stay connected.

Both visa and vaccination requirements differ depending on the destination. Visa and entry requirements are subject to change and the responsibility of the individual traveller, so it’s always worth checking well in advance.

We’ll try our very hardest to accommodate all dietary requirements, but it can be difficult to guarantee in some out-of-the-way places. We'll let you know if there are places on your itinerary where this is the case. Please let us know your dietary requirements at the time of booking and we’ll pass the information on to your leader.

Our trips are guaranteed to depart once they have one fully paid customer, unless the minimum group size listed in the Essential Trip Information and/or Special Conditions state otherwise.

Absolutely. All passengers travelling with Intrepid are required to purchase travel insurance before the start of their adventure. Your leader will record your travel insurance details on the first day of the trip. Due to the varying nature, availability and cost of healthcare around the world, travel insurance is an essential part of every journey.
