Hungary Tours & Holidays

Hungary offers travellers a slice of classic, Central European grace and grandeur.

With cobbled streets, charming castles, magnificent concert halls and historic churches, Hungary is all class. But what might surprise travellers is that Hungary is also a burgeoning wine-producing region, home to bucolic villages, thermal lakes, steaming hot springs and markets filled with organic produce - what's not to love?

Cycle the Danube

Cycling is such a lovely way to see a country (or countries) and Cycling the Danube was such a great trip. Ditching the bus or train travel to get from one place to the other by bike gives you such a different perspective on a place. Not only are you doing something wonderful for your body by exercising your way through Europe, but you see spectacular scenery, eat fantastic food and the group environment makes it so much fun. This trip is on mostly flat surfaces (there are a variety of surfaces, so you will need to be comfortable with that) so if your butt can withstand cycling up to 6-8 hours a day, I highly recommend joining this trip. The pace of this trip is perfect, the guide and support vehicle are always there for you, so all you need to do is keep pedalling and experience the Danube on two wheels.

Cycle the Danube

Cycling the Danube was fantastic! The paved bike trails along the river made for a peaceful and beautiful ride. Our new friends in the group were lots of fun. The food and hotels were great. We had excellent orientation to the culture and historic sites. Thank you Intrepid for another great adventure!

Cycle the Danube

A good trip for people who enjoy cycling. Although there are other things to see and do, the focus is on the riding each day. The ride is often along the dykes, through countryside so there isn’t a lot of sightseeing on the trip itself. Adding days before in Vienna and afterwards in Budapest is a must. The cycling is fairly fast, and covers fairly long distances. If you can’t sustain 20 kph, an E-bike is a good idea.

Cycle the Danube

A fun, enjoyable week cycling, Vienna to Budapest with 10 other travellers from 5 countries (commonwealth & USA) Guides Igor & Andro were both very professional and friendly. Also giving us many local facts and excellent restaurant recommendations. We were all given the opportunity to ride at our own pace, which ranged from 15km-35km ph. Lots of laughs all day & enjoyable dinners in the evening. Highly recommend. Get some training in, cycling the 80km per day and you’ll love it 🚴🏻‍♀️🚴🏼🚴🏻‍♀️
