When is the best time to travel to Port Douglas?
You can travel to Port Douglas at any time of the year as the destination has very good weather all year round. During the Summer months, the temperatures can get quite hot in North Queensland, and the climate quite humid so it's the perfect time to go swimming. If you wanted to avoid the peak tourist periods then we recommend going in either Spring or Autumn as the weather is cooler and there are not as many people around. If the hot temperatures of Summer don't tickle your fancy then you can always go in Winter as the weather is still pretty good and won't be as humid or rainy.
If you are visiting Port Douglas between the months of October to May and plan on swimming in the ocean then you should be wearing a 'stinger suit' as protection against harmful and dangerous jellyfish stings and other stinging marine life.
