Japan’s answer to fast food is kaiten-zushi – conveyor belt sushi, which was actually invented right here in Osaka. Sit back and relax as plates of sushi circulate on a conveyor belt that goes around the restaurant and grab what you like. The plates are colour-coded to determine pricing, so just snatch up what looks good and enjoy.

Arguably one of Japan’s most dramatic historical monuments, Osaka Castle is a sight to see with its huge stone walls, moat surroundings and nature-inspired designs.
