Take some time out in Ao Nang to recharge, relax and soak up the beachside bliss with loads of free time to go sea kayaking, rock climbing or cocktail hunting.
Eat on the roadside in Bangkok, Penang and Singapore, with included and optional street food experiences and plenty of free time (not to mention your trusty local leader) to find all the best food stalls.
Marvel at the reclining Buddha at Wat Pho in Bangkok, and then see the other 1000 images of Buddha throughout the gorgeous complex.
Spend your downtime in the green Cameron Highlands soaking up the scenery and chilling out or opt for an optional day tour to various local farms and a tea plantation.

Is this trip right for you?
- Your overnight sleeper train from Bangkok to Surat Thani is an adventure for sure. Be prepared for basic conditions though – bunk beds and shared facilities.
- There's one full day of travelling involved (from Ao Nang across the border into Malaysia, then down to Penang). Some travel on this trip is on public transport. This is, of course, a great way to mingle with the locals and experience how they travel. And it keeps your carbon footprint down.
- Go free and explore! As there are not a heap of inclusions, the resulting free time means flexibility and space for making your own discoveries. This is a great way to travel independently while drawing on the knowledge of local leaders, and keeping your costs down.
- This trip is part of a longer itinerary. You might be joining travellers who have already spent some time together. If you have more time to explore, you might like to check out Epic Bangkok to Singapore.
