Ningaloo Reef tours & vacations
It’s not only people who love Ningaloo
Be prepared to share the warm, wildlife-filled waters of the reef with Ningaloo’s other frequent visitors – the whales. Arrive at the right time of year to see tens of thousands of humpback whales and whale sharks along the coast of Western Australia. Those feeling brave can opt for a swim with the gentle giants or, simply hop on a boat to try to spot all manner of sea life, including dolphins, dugongs, turtles and manta rays from above.
Ningaloo Reef highlights
Swim with whale sharks
Visitors to Ningaloo Reef have the choice to get a truly one-of-a-kind experience – swimming with the world’s biggest fish. Running from April to July, sometimes up to September, whale sharks swim in the waters of Ningaloo Reef and are gentle enough to swim right next to.
Snorkel Ningaloo Reef
Ningaloo Reef is one of the healthiest systems on Earth. With over 500 species of fish and 250 types of coral, including rays, turtles, dolphins and even dugongs, snorkelling and swimming in the waters of Ningaloo isn’t to be missed.
Explore Cape Range National Park
Cape Range National Park covers more than 50,000 hectares and is home to native Australian wildlife, including iconic species like the emu and echidna. Head out with your leader to explore the walking tracks of Mandu and Yardie Creek Gorges, beaches of Turquoise Bay and more.
Go whale watching
Between June and October, Ningaloo Reef is a top spot to see whales as they migrate north from the Antarctic to mate and birth their calves. Jump on board a whale watching cruise for the best chance at seeing these incredible animals leaping into the air.
