What are the best things to do in Zion National Park?

Zion National Park offers a little something for just about every adventurer. From hiking through slot canyons to gazing up at the Milky Way, here are some of the fun activities you can do.

Zion has some of the USA’s most famous trails. Whether you fancy wading through the Virgin River Narrows, conquering your fear of heights by summiting Angel’s Landing or admiring sweeping views on the Canyon Overlook Trail, there are hikes for all levels and abilities.

Rock climbing

Rock climbing is a great way to get your heart pumping and adrenaline flowing, but it also offers incredible views. Imagine climbing to the top of one of Zion’s soaring sandstone cliffs, turning around, and seeing the canyon hundreds of feet below you... epic, right?

Get comfy in your camping chair and spend the evening eating s'mores beneath Zion's dazzling night skies. If you’re travelling with kids, you could go glamping on a family ranch. Sleeping in a converted wagon that was originally used by travelling pioneers in the 19th century is an experience you'll remember forever.

River tubing

If the idea of getting thrown around on a river raft sounds like fun, river tubing is for you. If your knuckles go white at the thought, you could opt for a relaxing ride that takes you along tame parts of the Virgin River past tall cottonwood trees.

Canyoneering is what you get when you roll hiking, rock climbing, rappelling and swimming into one package. It's a great opportunity to explore the hidden nooks and crannies of Zion’s many water-carved slot canyons.

With practically no light pollution, stargazing is a must in Zion. On a clear night, you may even see the Milky Way and other constellations. Top spots include the Human History Museum Patio, Kolob Canyon and the Pa’rus Trail.
