What's the weather like in Noosa?

Located in northern Queensland, Noosa enjoys mild but warm temperatures and sees a lot of sun, even in winter. With a subtropical climate, Noosa experiences warm temperatures for most of the year. Humidity levels are high from January to March and rainfall is moderate, though it generally doesn't last for very long.

Summer

From December to February, the weather in Noosa is at its best. With a comfortable average temperature of around 27°C, visiting in summer allows you to participate in water sports, hiking and bike riding.

While Noosa's temperatures are quite mild, you can still experience hot weather past 30°C. High temperatures are most likely to occur in January (the hottest month of the year), so try travelling in a different month if you're looking for cooler weather.

January and February can also be quite humid with peak humidity of 66% occurring in the late afternoon. Due to the humidity and sticky feeling that comes with it, temperatures are likely to feel higher than they actually are.

Autumn

The weather in autumn is similar to summer. March is one of the most humid and wettest months, so be mindful of that when booking your holiday. April and May are also likely to experience high levels of humidity but are less likely to see as much rainfall.

Despite the cooler temperatures (24°C is the average), autumn is still a great time for enjoying outdoor activities. The water temperature in Noosa is warm all year, so while the temperatures might not be as warm as in summer, you can still make the most out of the region's famous beaches.

Winter

Winter is actually one of the best times to visit Noosa as the weather is warm, but there are fewer crowds, so you can enjoy more of what this tropical destination has to offer in relative peace and quiet.

While temperatures in June, July and August are the coolest in the year, they are by no means 'cold' with the average sitting at around 20°C. However, temperatures can drop down to an average of 10°C at night, so it's best to carry a light jumper or cardigan to avoid being cold.

Thanks to its subtropical climate, winter in Noosa rarely sees rain, with August being the second driest. This is good news for those who want to take advantage of Noosa's natural beauty as you'll still be able to lay on the beach, hike through lush rainforests, and enjoy other outdoor activities without the fear of rain ruining your plans.

Spring

Spring is another great time to visit Noosa as the crowds aren't as large as they are in summer, rainfall is fairly low and the temperatures start rising. The average temperature in spring is around 24°C and drops to around 12°C at night.

There's also more daylight in spring, allowing you to maximise your time outdoors whether it's lying on the beach, walking through national parks or dining alfresco.
