Absolutely. All passengers travelling with Intrepid are required to purchase travel insurance before the start of their trip. It's important to understand that each country you visit may have its own specific entry requirements, and some destinations mandate travel health insurance for all foreign travellers, regardless of their nationality.

Your leader will record your travel insurance details on the first day of the trip. Due to the varying nature, availability and cost of health care around the world, travel insurance is an essential part of every journey.

The best time to visit the Daintree Rainforest is generally during winter (June to August), when the region experiences less rainfall but still has moderately warm temperatures.

December is the warmest month on average, at 31°C, while July is the coldest, with an average temperature of 26°C; however, it can drop to 17°C at night. 

It is typically humid throughout the year in the Daintree Rainforest and frequent and heavy rainfall is expected five months out of the year (December through April) during the region’s wet season.

If you are visiting between October and May and swimming in the ocean in the Daintree, you should wear a 'stinger suit' to protect yourself from possible jellyfish stings. 

It’s a good idea to pack clothes that breathe well for a trip to the Daintree as the rainforest is known for its high humidity, even in winter.

You should also bring plenty of sun protection, such as a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen as well as comfortable shoes for walking through the rainforest.
