Sacred Valley tours & vacations
Where ancient traditions live on
The Sacred Valley is a living landscape of terraced hills farmed since Inca times, llama-dotted plains and market towns framed by Andean peaks. But it's not just the scenery that'll stay with you – it's the people, their stories and deep connection to the land. Meet local women at a cafe that employs single mothers, share a traditional earth oven meal with Huilloc villagers or join a Mamacocha (Mother Water) blessing at a sacred lake in Pisac, and you'll soon see why this valley is so sacred.

Trek the Inca Trail
Spend four days climbing through cloud forests, dramatic Andean mountain passes and llama-filled plains on Peru's most famous trek. The steep ascents and (many) ancient stone steps can be tough... and sweaty! But the view when you arrive at the Sun Gate overlooking Machu Picchu? Can't beat it.
Share a pachamanca lunch
Meet the vibrantly dressed (and super-welcoming) women of Huilloc village near Ollantaytambo. Join a Pachamama (Mother Earth) blessing ceremony, then sit down to share a traditional pachamanca lunch – a centuries-old cooking ritual where vegetables and meat (usually guinea pigs) are baked in an underground oven heated with hot stones.
Have lunch at AMA Restaurant
Visit a restaurant making a real difference for women in the Sacred Valley. AMA offers support, training and job opportunities for single mothers without sacrificing time with their children – you might see or hear the kids playing out the back. Listen to stories about the women who work here, learn what inspired the owner and, of course, enjoy some delicious local food.
Experience an ancient water ceremony
Hike through grassy hills and rocky outcrops to Kinsa Qocha, a trio of sacred lagoons hidden high in the Andes. Here, you'll join local women from the Paru Paru community for a traditional Andean Mamacocha (Mother Water) ceremony – an ancient ritual to honour the Inca goddess of water, give thanks to the land and maintain harmony with nature.
