Peru tours in February 2025

Don't let a little rain get in the way of a Peruvian adventure this February

Although February is one of the rainiest months in the Sacred Valley, Peru has so much to offer beyond the Inca Trail, which is closed this month for restoration. Hike the less popular but equally iconic Quarry Trail and visit three lesser-known archaeological sites while enjoying spectacular views of the Andes, or climb aboard a train to check Machu Picchu off the bucket list. In more of a party mood? Why not celebrate National Pisco Sour Day with the locals? Let your taste buds do the exploring and enjoy this zingy cocktail for a true taste of Peruvian culture.

Sacred Land of the Incas

I cannot recommend Intrepid higher for the Peru Inca tour. I absolutely enjoyed learning about Peru as a country and it's local communities. Intrepid seems to work in a really sustainable way with it's communities which I think is fantasic. Our tour guide Hernan was amazing, very friendlyz knowledgeable and a great person. I am a vegetarian and always felt considered in every meal choice even in remote communities. I am so very happy with my trip but sad to see it coming to an end.

Sacred Land of the Incas

My Darkest Peru Adventure started on 26th February in Lima and ended on 11th March in La Paz, Bolivia. Hernan our Guide was so organised and friendly that he made my trip very enjoyable as his knowledge for all the places we visited was greatly delivered. We always had an early start to each day so we saw so much of each area and had so many activities to enjoy. I was very surprised at the luxury of the accommodation in the Amazon Jungle having taking an early bus, two planes and a motorized canoe along the Amazon River to reach our lodges. Exploring the jungle was so educational and we have a super mix of fellow travellers - 13 of us from age 19 to 66. We all got along and really enjoyed spending 2 weeks exploring Peru together. I would really recommend the Quarry Trail which I completed with one other lady Carmel with our Guide Marcia, 6 horses to carry all the tents, food, water, Toilet etc. We had a Chef, Horseman, Porter and Guide just for us two. We trekked 5000 meters high up the Quarry Trail and saw no other Hikers. We had the mountains to ourselves to explore the Inca tombs etc as everyone else was on the Popular Inca trail. We were so pleased after 2.5 days to complete our experience of camping and trekking to 5000 meters. Our Reward was the marvellous and mystical Machu Piccu which we explored for 3 hours. I also really loved learning about Incas and learning afew Quechua words. I really enjoyed the boat journey on Lake Titicaca and staying with the families on the Lakeside where we learnt about their way of life. Being beaten at playing Volley Ball was a great experience. I loved every aspect of my Secred Land of the Incas and hope to return to Peru again some day.
