Who are we?
We started in 2012 with 5 employees and now we are one of the largest offices for Intrepid. Now we act as the Centre of Excellence supporting the global team through a variety of functions, as well as having our own Destination Management Company.
Our Team
We currently employ over 250 staff and 30 local trip leaders. We are committed to constant progress on the employment, retention and promotion of women in the workplace. Our Leadership Team represents 70% women & 46% as a whole.
What we do?
In Colombo, we have Technology, Revenue Management, Human Resources, Product Services, Finance, Administration, Customer Service teams & Trip Operations.
Our Trip Operations
We operate 11 Intrepid trips across the country. In 2023; 1,200 Intrepid travelers explored Sri Lanka. In 2024, we have grown over 375%, expect to carry over 4,500 customers, which surpasses the DMC’s best year back in pre-covid 2019 (3,500 Customers). We are ambitious to bring over 15,000 customers to Sri Lanka by 2030.
Our Impact
TIF Partnership
Intrepid Foundation has been working with the Zero Plastic Movement since 2022 to create a behavioral change among citizens and institutions to reduce plastic waste while building demand for plastic alternatives.
Women in Tourism
We partnered with an International Development Program (Market Development Facility) on a new government cross-industry partnership to boost female participation in tourism in Sri Lanka.
Use of EVs
We are a leader in climate-conscious travel options and pioneering the use of electric vehicles in Sri Lanka. Over 90% of our airport transfers (over 800) are conducted using EVs, and we consistently utilize fully electric cars for our FIT customers, resulting in a reduction of 4.50MT of carbon emissions since our launch in 2022.
