Wildlife family tours

Take a walk on the wild side.

There are families, and then there are animal-loving families. If yours is the kind of tribe who could collectively swoon their way through The Lion King on a regular basis, or who, better yet, would rather spend a Sunday at the wildlife sanctuary than the local cinema, we’ve got an adventure or three for you. Our Wildlife Family Holidays are simple; they have all the hallmarks of a classic Intrepid Family Holiday, but with an extra dose of animal fun – be it furry or scaly or fangy. The orangutans of Borneo, the hippos of East Africa and the seabirds of the Galapagos are calling.

Why choose us

Small, family-only groups

Our average group size of 10 (usually 3 to 5 like-minded families) means we can use local transport, eat at family-run restaurants, and stay in traditional guesthouses and homestays. All relations are welcome – as long as you’re with a child aged between 5 and 17, you’re a family in our eyes.

Designed by parents

We know one of the hardest parts of family travel is keeping the kids entertained, which is why our trips have loads of fun, educational activities for both children and grown-ups. We try to keep travel time to a minimum, use hotels with pools where we can and include plenty of free time to do your own thing. Your leader can also suggest activities based on your kids’ hobbies or curriculum.

Small groups

Our groups are small enough to avoid the crowds and reach out-of-the-way places, but big enough for a good social mix. Our average group size of 10 allows us to hop aboard local boats, buses or trains, eat at family-run restaurants, and stay in traditional guesthouses and homestays.

Kid-friendly itineraries

Boredom? Nope. The biggest challenge of travelling with kids is keeping them entertained, which is why our trips have plenty of fun activities and free time. We try to keep travelling time to a minimum and use hotels with pools. Your leader can also suggest activities based on your kid’s hobbies or curriculum.

Safety first

Our leaders are specially trained to run family adventures and have a great rapport with the kids, so you'll all be well taken care of. You can also relax knowing we use and regularly audit trusted local operators and conduct safety assessments on all our activities to make sure they meet our comprehensive safety policy.

Support the locals

We use travel as a force for good. We have close relationships with the communities we visit and always use local providers on our trips. By travelling with us, you'll also be empowering local communities.
