Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. By participating, you agree to be bound by and comply with these Terms and Conditions.
Promoter
The promoter is Intrepid Travel New Zealand Ltd (1836592) of Level 1, Suite 5, 20 Augustus Terrace, Parnell, Auckland, New Zealand (Promoter).
Competition period
The Competition commences at 12:01am NZT on 12 October 2026 and ends at 11:59pm on 24 October 2027 (Competition Period). No entry details submitted after this time will be accepted.
Entry eligibility
The competition entry is open to Auckland Theatre Company customers participants aged 18 years or older and excludes employees of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary company and their immediate families, anyone connected professionally with the prize draw, or any person where entering this competition breaches any law or regulation of the jurisdiction in which they are resident. In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize.
Entry instructions
To enter, individuals must complete the following entry mechanics during the Competition Period:
- Opt in to communications from both Intrepid Travel and Auckland Writers Festival
- If entering via the Intrepid website, the entrant must share 'why would you like to visit Egypt with Intrepid?'
Prize
The prize winner will receive:
- The prize is for a trip for 2 on an Intrepid "Egypt Experience" tour and return (round trip) flights to Egypt from Auckland International Airport, to a maximum combined value of $15,000. The prize winner will be announced on 29th October 2027 and verified by Intrepid Travel at time of booking.
Prize terms and conditions
This prize is subject to the below terms and conditions, in addition to our booking conditions in force from time to time:
- The prize must be redeemed against a new booking at least 3 months in advance of departure and must be redeemed for travel departing before 29th October 2028. The following black out period applies to travel: [15 Dec 2027-14 Jan 2028].
- If the prize winner chooses a trip and flights over the combined value of $15,000NZD the remaining balance must be paid by the prize winner.
- The winner must contact Intrepid Travel directly to book the prize and quote the prize winner promo code advised at time of winning. It is the responsibility of the prize winner to book and travel by the required date.
- The winner will be required to agree to the current Booking Conditions at the time of booking including any applicable policies or waivers that are in place at the time.
- This prize applies to the land element of trip only and cannot be redeemed against flights, accommodation, meals, domestic transfers, travel insurance, single supplement payment, activities, spending money or local payments/kitties not covered by the itinerary.
- Any request to change to a different Intrepid Travel trip is at the discretion of Intrepid Travel and is not guaranteed.
- The Prize is strictly non-transferable to another person nor is it redeemable for cash.
- The Prize is subject to availability at time of booking. A minimum of 4 travellers must be confirmed on the Intrepid trip for the prize winner booking to be confirmed on their requested date. The Promoter reserves the right to replace the Prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter's control makes it necessary to do so.
- The winner is responsible for ensuring that they have valid passports, and any required visas, vaccinations, travel insurance and other travel documentation.
- Intrepid Travel collects your information to administer this competition and to contact winners. By opting in you are agreeing to receive marketing emails from Intrepid Travel. Prize draw date
There will be 1 winner determined in respect of this promotion.
The winner will be determined by random selection based on number of entries in the draw.
The winner will be notified in writing by the email submitted at the time of registration for the event.
The Promoter will make reasonable efforts to identify and locate the prize winner. At the conclusion of 14 days, if no response is received by the Promoter, we will deem the prize as unclaimed and an unclaimed Prize draw will be held on 12 November 2026. The Prize Winner from the redraw will be notified by email and similarly given 14 days to claim the prize. If by 27 November 2027 the prize is still unclaimed, this prize will be forfeited.
Collection and use of your personal information
Personal Information including the entrant’s name, address, telephone number and email will be collected and used for the purpose of conducting this Competition. This may require disclosure to third parties, including the Promoter’s agents or third-party service providers, for the purpose of conducting the Competition.

Jurisdiction
The promotion shall be governed by the laws in place in Auckland, New Zealand.
General
The Promoter and its affiliates reserve the right to amend or withdraw the prize draw and any of the prizes in the event of any unforeseen circumstances outside their reasonable control. Prizes are subject to availability. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute alternative prizes of equivalent or greater value.
Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the Prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
