Why you'll love this trip
  • Travel with an experienced local leader who will share local secrets, insider knowledge and historical information as you traverse Croatia’s rich coastline.
  • Follow a local guide through Diocletian's Palace in Split, where narrow cobblestone streets are lined with pre-Romanesque churches, Gothic chapels and museums.
  • Immerse yourself in local culture during an Exclusive Experience as you head out with a fisherman from Lastovo Island, helping to bring in the daily catch and enjoying an on-board lunch of the freshest seafood imaginable.
  • Wake up to incredible views of the Adriatic and a picturesque bay from the comfort of your exquisite Feature Stay guesthouse on the unspoiled Lastovo Island.
  • Relish the best of Croatian cuisine as you dine out in Split and Dubrovnik, eat freshly caught fish at sea, sample locally produced wine and enjoy dinner overlooking the Adriatic.
  • By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Intrepid Foundation partner, Humana Zagreb. Donations help provide job opportunities and education programs in sustainable fashion and textiles for people with disabilities.

Is this trip right for you?
  • Croatia’s coast is very hilly and mountainous, which means lots of steps are an inherent feature of the landscape. Also, stone streets become very slippery when wet, so good walking shoes are recommended.
  • Summer temperatures can be extreme in Croatia (over 40°C), which can be uncomfortable. It’s important to use sun protection, wear layers to combat the heat and drink plenty of water. Please carefully consider the time of the year you wish to travel and your suitability to that season.

We really enjoyed our Tour in Croatia. Loved the Old Towns and their connection with history. The people were so friendly. It was great to have only one other couple on the tour with us, and we were so lucky to have The Best Guide - Vladimir. He looked after us so well, it was more like travelling with a friend than a guide.

The tour of Croatia was well beyond our expectations. It was the perfect mix of historic cities / rural areas. The small group and exceptional guide made it an awesome experience. Croatia was beautiful one moment and gorgeous the next!

This is my second overseas adventure with Intrepid (ICELAND and CROATIA) The professionalism and knowledge of the leaders, our guides is exceptional. Their creativity, ability to 'go with the flow', and commitment to the wonder and delicate balance of our planet and its natural resources and people is truly admirable.

A gorgeous combination of exploration, wonderful food and drink, glorious archaeology, fascinating sight-seeing to unusual and less visited places, and beautiful land and seascape, the Split to Dubrovnik trip was the perfect refreshing week away. Trip leader Daniela Bajić Kovačić was unfailingly cheerful, highly informative and very well organised, even when things had to be adjusted to suit the weather etc. I loved every minute and would recommend this out-of-the-ordinary trip to anyone with an enquiring mind.
