Sacred Valley tours & holidays
Where Inca traditions live on
Travel 20 km north of Cusco and you'll find the Sacred Valley, a landscape shaped by the Andes and fed by the Urubamba River. Explore the Inca Temple of the Sun in Ollantaytambo and get to know market vendors in Pisac, then meet the Quechua communities keeping ancient traditions alive. Share an earth oven meal with Huilloc villagers, join a Mother Water ceremony at a sacred lagoon or connect with the women who work at a cafe that supports solo parents. Machu Picchu might be the peak of your time in the Andes, but it's the people and stories of the Sacred Valley that really bring the ruins to life.

Trek the Inca Trail
Spend four days climbing through cloud forests, dramatic Andean mountain passes and llama-filled plains on Peru's most famous trek. The steep ascents and (many) ancient stone steps can be tough... and sweaty! But the view when you arrive at the Sun Gate overlooking Machu Picchu? Can't beat it.
Share a pachamanca lunch
Travel to the Huilloc village near Ollantaytambo to join the local women for a workshop where you’ll make your own bracelet using traditional textile techniques. Then sit down to share a pachamanca lunch – a centuries-old Andean cooking ritual where vegetables and meat (usually guinea pigs) are baked in an underground oven heated with hot stones.
Visit a restaurant making a difference
AMA restaurant supports local women through training programs and provides solo parents the opportunity to work without sacrificing time with their children – you might even see or hear the kids playing out the back. Connect with the women who work here, learn what inspired the owner to open the restaurant and, of course, enjoy some delicious local food.
Experience a water ceremony
Hike through grassy hills and rocky outcrops to Kinsa Qocha – a trio of sacred lagoons hidden high in the Andes – to join local women from the Paru Paru community for a traditional Andean Mamacocha (Mother Water) ceremony. This ancient ritual is performed to honour the Inca goddess of water, give thanks to the land and maintain harmony with nature.
