Intrepid Renews Strategic Partnership with Morocco National Tourism Office
September 2025
Intrepid Travel has renewed its strategic partnership with the Morocco National Tourism Office (MNTO) for a further five years from 2026 to 2031, with a commitment to grow Intrepid travellers to the country to 200,000 per year by 2031.
The agreement was signed at the Australian Embassy in Rabat by Intrepid CEO James Thornton and MNTO CEO Achraf Fayda, alongside Australian Ambassador Damien Donavan. The ceremony highlighted the strengthening ties between Morocco and Australia, and Intrepid’s growing role in shaping the future of tourism in the region.
Morocco is Intrepid’s largest destination by customer volume – in 2024, the company operated 22 itineraries in the country, carrying 22,778 travellers. It also has a team of 100+ people based in Marrakech, as well as 148 tour leaders and crew. Under the agreement, Intrepid will continually market Morocco to its global travel community with the aim of growing customer numbers to the country.
“We’re deeply committed to Morocco, and this partnership demonstrates the strength of the relationship between our countries and organisations. Growing the number of travellers to the country will ensure that we continue to benefit more communities, as well as bringing more people together in the joy of travel and shared experiences,” said Thornton.
