Intrepid launches new Premium Family range

The eight new trips respond to growing demand for immersive, hassle-free family adventures.

Intrepid Travel, a global leader in responsible travel, has launched a new Premium Family range, expanding its family offering with eight new trips across Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, India, Borneo, Vietnam, Morocco, Thailand and Egypt. Designed for small groups of three to five like-minded families and led by Intrepid’s most experienced local guides, the range combines elevated accommodation and extensive inclusions with immersive, kid-friendly travel experiences.  

The new range responds to the growing demand for hassle-free family travel, bringing together Intrepid’s most comfortable travel style – Premium – and its established Family range, which already spans more than 50 itineraries worldwide and recorded 19% year-on-year growth in 2025. A recent Intrepid survey (1) of over 2,600 parents across Australia, U.S., Canada and the UK found that 80% want their children to experience new cultures and destinations, while 70% place greater value on holidays here planning, logistics and other stresses are handled for them.

Highlights of the new itineraries include a night in a Sahara desert camp on the 10-day Morocco Premium Family Holiday, where families will enjoy a traditional dinner, watch live Gnaoua music and stargaze under an uninterrupted sky. On the 9-day Borneo Premium Family Holiday, families stay in an overwater villa, where they can kayak, snorkel and stand-up paddleboard, and take part in a coral planting workshop to learn about the region’s delicate marine ecosystem. While the 8-day India Golden Triangle Premium Family Holiday offers the chance to see an impressive diversity of birdlife on a rickshaw ride through Keoladeo National Park and spot wildlife at Jhalana Leopard Safari Park on an open-roof 4WD safari.

Intrepid now offers 58 family tours, spanning 6 continents and 30 countries. The tours are available in four styles, Basix, Original, Comfort and now Premium with each style offering progressively more inclusions, elevated experiences and higher standard accommodation. The new Premium Family trips are available to book and will depart from December 2026.     

New trip details

Costa Rica Premium Family Tour (7-days) Starting in San Jose, this seven-day journey through Costa Rica includes wildlife volunteering at Proyecto Asis Wildlife Rescue Centre, cultural experiences with the Maleku community and hands-on cooking with a local family. Stay in a rainforest Feature Stay near La Fortuna, relax in hot springs and explore the Papagayo Peninsula by catamaran, with snorkelling, ziplining and volcano views.

Sri Lanka Premium Family Holiday (9-days) Join a nine-day family adventure Sri Lanka, exploring the Dambulla Cave Temples, spotting elephants on a safari in Minneriya and spending two nights in the UNESCO World Heritage-listed ancient city of Sigiriya. Venture off the beaten track in Heeloya, enjoy a painting lesson with a local artist in Dambulla, then go on a boat ride along the Madampe River in Galle.

Morocco Premium Family Holiday (10-days) Spend 10 days immersed in the sights and sounds of Morocco on a Premium family journey. Enjoy a feature stay at a desert camp and experience a traditional meal and live Gnaoua music under the stars, get creative in a pottery workshop, calligraphy class and cooking class – where everyone will go home with your their written keepsake, a ceramic piece and a new recipe to cook together at home.

India Golden Triangle Premium Family Holiday (8-days) Join this 8-day Premium family adventure through India, starting in Delhi with a rickshaw ride through its bustling streets before heading to Agra to see the Taj Mahal at sunrise. Spot wildlife on safari in Keoladeo National Park and Jhalana Leopard Safari Park, with a week of history, culture, local flavours and family time across the Golden Triangle, with all the logistics taken care of.

Borneo Premium Family Holiday (9-days) Round up the family for a 9-day Premium adventure through Borneo, watching baby orangutans learn to climb, visiting the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, and cruising the Kinabatangan River in search of proboscis monkeys, macaques, gibbons and kingfishers. Stay in an overwater villa on Gaya Island, where you can plant coral and enjoy kayaking, snorkelling, stand-up paddleboarding or scuba diving amid rich marine life.

Egypt Premium Family Holiday (8-days) Discover Egypt's wonders on this unforgettable 8-day family adventure from Cairo to Luxor. Make learning fun with visits to the Pyramids, Sphinx and ancient temples while also getting a taste of local life with a felucca sail and home-cooked meals with local families. The kid's favourite part will be sailing down the Nile onboard a luxury cruise for 3 nights.
