Weather in Los Angeles

Located on the USA's west coast and flanked by the Pacific Ocean, Los Angeles has a Mediterranean climate with mild, sunny and relatively dry weather for most of the year. It also boasts an average of 263 sunny days per year.

The temperatures get neither too hot nor too cold, with July through September and January being the warmest and coldest months respectively.

Does Los Angeles ever get cold?

Winter (December to February) in LA is the rainiest season, but February (the wettest month) still averages only 5 days of rain. While temperatures in winter can drop to 4°C, it rarely goes below that due to the Santa Ana winds.

If you travel to Los Angeles in winter, jeans/long pants and a sweater should suffice. You may also want to pack an umbrella in case it rains.
