Culture, cuisine and ancient history on an island-hopping adventure
Jump from jewel to jewel in the glittering Mediterranean on an 8-day Adventure Cruise. Casting off from vibrant Malta, sail on to Gozo, where wonderful wine and fascinating history go hand in hand. Cruise across to Sicily and the Aeolian Islands, where visits to Syracuse, Noto, Lipari, Mt Etna and Taormina will reveal landscapes, cuisine and history worth digging into. Meet with local guides along the way to gain a deeper understanding of the destinations you visit, and with your small ship allowing you to drop anchor in lesser-visited spots inaccessible to larger vessels, you’ll see beyond tourist hotspots and get a real look at local life.
Beginning in Malta, your Adventure Cruise takes you over shimmering turquoise waters to the island of Gozo, where you’ll meet a local guide for a walking tour and visit a fantastic winery.
Cruise across to Sicily – Italy’s largest island is famed for its cherished cuisine and arresting volcanic landscapes. Spend a day discovering the ancient riches of Syracuse and Noto.
Hopping between the diverse Aeolian Islands, you’ll unearth Lipari’s history with a local guide, discover geothermal wonders in Vulcano, unwind in Panarea and look out for eruptions on Stromboli.
Discover Europe’s most active volcano, Mt Etna, and see the impact on the surrounding landscapes during a guided tour, including a visit to a local winery benefiting from the region’s volcanic soil.
Gorgeous and glamourous, Taormina is one of Sicily’s most beloved destinations. Join a local guide to uncover Greek-inspired architecture and plenty of scenes worth snapping a picture of!
This is a small ship adventure cruise, which means you’ll be sailing on a yacht with up to 44 other people. The boat is spacious and comfortable, but it focuses more on the destination than on-board activities. Instead of a pool, we have the sea itself. Instead of a casino, we’ve got board games and a good book. There’s also no formal dress code to worry about. Wi-Fi is available for a small charge.
Our ship moves under engine power, rather than sailing, so all cabins will experience light engine noise when the ship is moving (and occasionally when we drop anchor). It’s probably worth packing earplugs if you’re a light sleeper.
Onshore activities and excursions will involve a bit of walking. You’ll be visiting ancient sites and historical places, and at times you may have to cross cobbled streets and uneven ground, sometimes in hot conditions. If you have any concerns, please speak to your group leader before taking part.
If you’re concerned about seasickness, there are seasickness tablets on-board. The ship will experience some roll and pitch in choppy conditions, however all of our ships come equipped with stablisers to minimise movement. Most of our departures run in peak season, when the seas are calmer. Your crew will do all they can to minimise any discomfort.
There are no lifts (elevators) on-board our ships, so you’ll have to navigate a few steep flights of stairs. Handrails are always available.
The Rolls Royce of our Intrepid adventure cruising fleet, this spacious motor yacht travels to some of our sunnier destinations such as Portugal,...
