Map of Moab Adventure including United States Of America

A desert hiking adventure in the wild landscapes of America’s Wild West

The charming town of Moab is the gateway to some of the most spectacular scenery in all the Southwest USA. Ancient canyons, towering rock formations and flowing rivers make up this corner of America, where the elements have carved away the land for centuries. Lace up your best hiking boots and explore Arches National Park, home to over 2,000 arches, and Canyonlands National Park, where the Green River meets the Colorado. After days of desert hiking, unwind at the local bar and swap tales of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, who used the canyons to hide from the law in the late 1800s.

  • Support local industry with a visit to a 40-year-old winery that started as a university agricultural project and today specialises in single-vineyard estate-bottled wines.

Is this trip right for you?

  • Please ensure you consult your local government’s advice regarding domestic travel prior to booking this trip.

  • During our visits to national parks, there are a lot of opportunities to hike. Sturdy walking shoes are highly recommended.

  • This trip is new to our range this year. And while we have thoroughly researched every detail of the logistics, new destinations and working with new partners can sometimes throw us some unexpected surprises. More often than not, it’ll be a great surprise. But every now and again there might be a hiccup. We like to think that’s what puts the ‘adventure’ in ‘adventure travel’.

It’s an early morning with a wake-up before dawn and a trip to Arches National Park, home to more than 2,000 natural stone arches, rock formations and giant, balancing rocks. Our rugged, half-day hike takes you through this famous US landmark, along a trail marked by cairns. Eventually, you’ll wind our way around a rock wall to view a magnificent natural arch just as the sun is rising. After you come down from our viewpoint, you’ll work our feet a bit more with some additional hiking throughout this stunning area. The hike is a 2-mile loop which enables you to see different arches, including the largest rock arch on the planet, Landscape Arch. There are also shorter options if you prefer to take a slower pace.
