Majestic Peru & Galapagos Cruise (Grand Queen Beatriz)

See a wonder of the world in Peru, then cruise the Galapagos on an epic adventure

Take a journey from the coastal plains and ancient cities of Peru to the waters of Galapagos on this 20-day adventure. Travel through Lima, Puno, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Ollantaytambo and Aguas Calientes to uncover historic architecture, Andean landscapes, Inca ruins, colourful markets and local culture. Tick off Machu Picchu – one of the Seven Wonders of the World – from your list and maybe even opt to take the One Day Inca Trail trek to experience the ancient citadel from two angles. Rub shoulders with the locals with two pachamanca meals – one in the middle of the desert near the Nazca Lines in a local’s home and one in the Andean highlands community of Huilloq. Then, head on a sailing voyage that takes in the very best of the Galapagos. Look for sea lions, iguanas, giant tortoises and exotic birds, go snorkelling with manta rays and turtles and tropical fish, and see what Charles Darwin saw when he arrived on the isles more than 180 years ago.

Where you’ll stay

Grand Queen Beatriz
Motor Yacht16 passengers

Experience the ‘Enchanted Islands’ in our new custom-built yacht, the Grand Queen Beatriz. Our new boutique expedition boat came into service on the 30th June 2018. With a stylish modern design, ensuite bathrooms, outward-facing windows in all cabins (and private balconies in some), and a jacuzzi on the sundeck, the 'Grand Queen Bea’ is one of the newest boats operating in the Galapagos. If you don't find the itinerary you're after, our beloved M/Y Grand Daphne offers a fantastic choice of itineraries including visits to Genovesa and Fernandina.

Why you'll love this trip

  • See the famed Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World – high in the Andes on a mountaintop, surrounded by mountain rainforest – and discover the secrets and history of this iconic Inca ruin.
  • Spend a full day exploring the floating islands of Uros (made entirely of reeds) on Lake Titicaca and make the most of the chance to meet the local Uru people who live here.
  • Witness the giant desert inscriptions of the Nazca Lines – one of Peru's greatest unsolved mysteries – from the viewing tower. Then, head to a local’s home in the middle of the desert for a traditional pachamanca dinner.
  • Visit the scenic Sacred Valley, where you’ll stop for lunch in the Huilloq community and participate in their ceremony blessing Pachamama. Listen to their life stories of the Andean highlands and learn more about their fascinating culture through a textile demonstration.
  • Explore the Galapagos Islands from on deck, on foot and in the water. Sea lions and iguanas await you at Plaza Sur and Santa Fe, whilst in San Cristobal you meet the grand-daddy of the Galapagos – the giant tortoise.
