There's a reason Croatia is renowned for its charm.
The stunning landscape of the Croatian coastline from Split to Dubrovnik is packed full of guidebook treasures and off-the-beaten-track gems. One day, you could be cycling through olive groves, sampling Croatian wine and living like a local. The next, diving into the turquoise waters of a hidden island before exploring the cobbled lanes of a quaint coastal town by night. Mediterranean adventures don't get any better than this.
Our Split to Dubrovnik trips
Split to Dubrovnik highlights
Relax onboard a private yacht
If you want to do Croatia in comfort and style, you sail your way down the coast aboard a private yacht (we don’t make the rules). Prepare your senses for a week in paradise as you go from the boat to the mainland and back again, exploring historic towns, protected forests, and stunning islands such as Brac, Hvar, Vis, and Lastovo as you go. Talk about a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
Explore port towns like a local
Split and Dubrovnik might be the two most visited cities in Croatia, but the historic charm and epic scenery of this country’s other seaside towns will also surely captivate your attention and take up space in your phone’s camera roll. From the rood-roofed houses on Korcula Island to the traffic-free streets of Hvar Town, absorb the past of some of Europe’s oldest destinations.
Visit the ruins of Diocletian’s Palace in Split
Before you get completely swept up in the magic of the Mediterranean, kick off your Croatian getaway by learning about its past on a leader-led tour through Split’s old town. Discover the secrets of Diocletian’s palace, built in the 1800s for a Roman emperor of the same name, and wander its ruins while marvelling at the intricate details still visible hundreds of years later.
Tuck into some traditional Croatian cuisine
Croatia has everything; the beaches, the culture, and the food – think dishes made from fresh ingredients that are bursting with flavour. From tasty seafood straight out of the Mediterranean and national dishes with Balkan influences to meat and cheese boards devoured with a glass of wine, regardless of which part of Croatia you’re exploring, you’ll never go hungry.
Soak up the Adriatic sun on pristine beaches
Exploring cobblestoned streets and appreciating ancient architecture is all well and good but on a holiday in Croatia, nothing beats spending hours on a beach under the warm Adriatic sun. Feel the sun’s rays dance across your skin as you listen to the gently lapping waves make their way up the pebbled shore and be instantly transported to your own slice of a perfect paradise.
Wander through the streets of Old Dubrovnik
You could easily spend days walking through Dubrovnik’s old town and still not see everything you wanted to, but you can sure give it a go. Whether you fancy visiting the historical Rector’s Palace with its ornate architecture, sipping on a cold beer at a towering cliff-top bar or gently making your way along the Ljuta River at sunset, this perfectly preserved city will capture your heart.

This was a magical experience. Touring such a gorgeous country by bike was incredible. The scenery, eating figs from the trees, snacking on grapes from the vines, and the vast views. We stopped to swim in the clearest water I've ever seen. The other travelers were kind, caring, interesting, and fun. The two guides were exceptional. As a world traveler, this ranked as one of my favorite trips ever. We got history, adventure, great food, and beauty everywhere we looked. I highly recommend it!

The Croatia Cycling trip was amazing. The locations that were covered were stunning. Logistically there is a lot of travel involved but it was all managed well. It was nice to have a day off in the middle to explore. It was a great way to see the country. I will certainly be booking another trip with Intrepid in the future.
