Well organised trip. Intrepid staff were friendly and knowledgeable. This trip allowed me to see the main sites but also gave me a chance to meet the locals.

Hotels were very average. Tour guide spent every evening with us at restaurants based around his friends (I am pretty sure he was getting fed/paybacks etc). Also, the factories recommended seemed sketchy - again, doing us a "favour" by taking us there on his day off. One evening, quoted "a gift" to us all, live bank at his friends hotel. We paid for the meal, 20 minute live band - then he asked for tips for the band! Not much of a gift then! Finally, having quoted $40 for a rainbow mountain trip, he increased this to $135 and pressured all to accept! Hard work, long days. Cold night at the homestay - zero contingency for cold weather (nobody was happy with the weather).

This was my first experience of an adventure holiday and I wasn’t disappointed. It was invigorating and exceeded my expectations in every way. I travelled alone from the UK and joined a group of only seven people who were very welcoming also we were very fortunate to have such a knowledgeable and supportive guide named Giscard. I did find that the trip was more physically challenging than I anticipated and certainly involved more hiking than I expected. Peru is a beautiful country with so much to see and do and I would highly recommend at least one trip in a lifetime.
