Why choose us

A local leader

When you're travelling alone, it can be way too easy to get pulled into tourist traps and miss authentic experiences. Joining a group tour as a solo traveller will help you check all the major sites off of your bucket list while having the knowledge and finesse of a local.Ā Each Intrepid guide in Italy is an expert in helping you discover the perfect pizza place, avoid long lines at museums and make the most of your free time.

Ready made friendshps

Go solo, but not alone. That's our motto. The average Intrepid trip inĀ ItalyĀ has about ten people on it ā€“ people of all ages and backgrounds from all over the world. While you'll have plenty of free time to explore independently, there's nothing quite like sharing a few bottles of vino at dinner with your new friends. Plus, long travel days become much more interesting when you can swap stories with your seatmate on the train.

Logistics and convenience

Gone are the days of confusing and complicated travel. As a solo traveller in Italy, navigatingĀ Europe'sĀ network of trains can be pretty daunting. But when you join an Intrepid trip, we'll organise all of your transportation, whether that means a train, van or water taxi, so you just have to sit back, enjoy the view, and daydream about what your next location holds.

Safety

When you join a group tour as a solo traveller you'll always have the benefit of safety in numbers. While Italy is a relatively safe place, it's also a hugely popular tourist destination and with that comes the common scams and petty theft. Your local guide will help you avoid unsafe areas of town while your new friends will be there to watch your back (and your stuff) while you're wandering aroundĀ the Colosseum or Roman Forum.

Hiking in the Dolomites

This trip exceeded my expectations in terms of scenery, variety of hikes and itinerary. The rest day was great to do some exploring and relax the pace a little. You won't be disappointed! I highly recommend this trip!

Italy: Highlights of Sicily

Ebony Ā· Traveled July 2024
A great trip for those eager to get a taste of Sicily. Small group size meant we were able to comfortably travel in a mini van from destination to destination, soaking in the beautiful Sicilian Country side. My only feedback would be that I wish it was a couple days longer to see some more of the coastal towns!

Hiking in the Dolomites

Hazel Ā· Traveled June 2024
Loved this trip. Our leader Vincenzo was so enthusiastic it was infectious. The hikes were beautiful and not too difficult there was no pressure to take part and you could always make time for yourself. I feel recharged and enthused after spending time in the beautiful mountains. The hotel is well located and the transport around is easy!
