Absolutely. All passengers travelling with Intrepid are required to purchase travel insurance before the start of their trip. It's important to understand that each country you visit may have its own specific entry requirements, and some destinations mandate travel health insurance for all foreign travellers, regardless of their nationality.

Your leader will record your travel insurance details on the first day of the trip. Due to the varying nature, availability and cost of health care around the world, travel insurance is an essential part of every journey.

Because of its subtropical climate, the best time to visit Brisbane is any time of the year.

Summers in Brisbane are hot, humid and wet with frequent thunderstorms, while the spring and autumn months are slightly cooler and drier. These shoulder seasons, from March to May and September to November, are generally when the weather is suitable for most activities.

Winter is the coolest time of year, but daytime temperatures are still warm and with clear skies and minimal rain, it's a great time of year to go hiking or cycling. If you're travelling north from Brisbane, you may also get the chance to spot whales off the Gold Coast during their annual migration from Antarctica from June to October.

Brisbane has a subtropical climate, meaning the weather is warm and sunny for most of the year. Summers are hot, humid and wet with frequent thunderstorms and occasional flooding, while winters are mild and dry. Spring and autumn bring clearer skies and comfortable temperatures.

Despite some seasonal variation, average daytime temperatures linger between a pleasant 21°C and 29°C throughout the year.

It never gets super cold in Brisbane, with average lows dropping to a mild 9°C or 10°C in July, the coolest month of the year. At the height of summer in January and February, overnight temperatures only drop to 22°C.

Brisbane is a laidback destination where smart casual is the most common style of dress for the evenings.

It's pleasantly warm throughout the year, although it can get cool in the evening, so bring a lightweight sweater just in case.

Bring swimwear as well as you may like to go swimming, even in winter. Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat are a must all year as sunshine is plentiful.
