Learn about the history of this natural wonder from a local guide (so wonderful that it’s been named one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World). Fill your four days by zipping or soaring over the falls or relax instead – it's up to you.

Victoria Falls is the town on the Zimbabwean side of the falls, with spectacular views and a reputation as the adventure capital of Zimbabwe. Maybe head out and find a restaurant serving Muboora (a traditional stew with pumpkin leaves) or Zimbabwe’s national dish sadza (a thick porridge made from maize meal).
- Hotel (1 night)
There are no meals included on this day.
- Complimentary Arrival Transfer
Your airport arrival transfer from Victoria Falls Airport is included. This transfer is only valid if arriving on Day 1 or if you have booked pre-trip accommodation through Intrepid. Please provide your flight details at the time of booking, or at a minimum 15 days prior to travel. Transfers from Livingstone Airport can be arranged at additional cost.
You may notice businesses offering an optional 'Walk with the Lions' experience. We ask all Intrepid travellers to avoid this activity as it’s contrary to our Responsible Travel policy. While wildlife viewing is a big part of many of our itineraries, we strive to only view animals in their natural habitats and to do so with the greatest level of respect. The lion walking industry directly contributes to the captive breeding and canned hunting of lions.

Get up close to the world’s largest waterfall with a local guide. The Victoria Falls are an enormous curtain of water, about a mile wide, falling 108 m into a narrow gorge below. In the wet season, the spray created can rise an incredible 400 m and the falls are an impressive raging torrent. The spray from the falls can sometimes be seen from kilometres away. In the dry season, the view of the falls is unobstructed by spray and it's possible to see little islets in the river below. This afternoon, head to a local centre with your guide, where you can book whatever activities take your fancy.

Before you book you should know
- On Independent Short Breaks, you maintain a good level of independence and freedom, with the added bonus of having the details sorted out for you. You’ll have lots of free time and you won’t be accompanied by a Trip Leader. This means that all included activities and tours will be run by different local Intrepid partners, and these may operate independently from each other. The included activities and transfers will operate on a join-in basis, which means that you could have your Adventure all to yourself, or others may join you along the way. If you would prefer to travel in a group with a dedicated Trip Leader, just get in touch with your booking agent and they will take you through some alternatives.
- Regardless of where you stay, power cuts and breaks in hot water are sometimes unavoidable, as in any developing country. In particular, South Africa suffers from load-shedding: rolling blackouts that are engineered specifically to share out available power in the region.
1.Return airport transfers are included. Please ensure you provide flight details to your bookings consultant and ensure you have a voucher for each transfer. You will receive important information about the included and optional activities during this arrival transfer. If no transfers are required please advise your sales consultant.
Visa information is provided by Sherpa, a third-party. The "Add connection" feature shows transit visa requirements only and does not include full entry visa needs. Please note, additional service fees apply if you choose to purchase a visa through Sherpa.
