I cannot recommend Intrepid highly enough for those travellers who want a good adventure. Seeing the real country, connecting with local people and like-minded travellers is so special and makes for lifelong memories!

Northern Thailand was an interesting tour. You cover a lot of miles by train and private mini bus but the benefit of our guide being from the area gave us a great experience. The late April trip was exceptionally hot so choose your dates carefully! I would recommend this trip.

This was my first solo trip so clearly I was nervous. Luckily we had a great tour guide, Nok who helped to encourage team bonding from start. I made some great friends on this trip. Nok was great at communicating (much better than the leader I had after this trip). She was knowledgeable and shared lots of great details about the sites we visited and provided helpful options on free times/days. She was enthusiastic, funny and very caring. I appreciate that she always had what we for us, iced towels to cool us down and tissue for toilet stops that didn’t provide toilet paper. I realized how awesome Nok was after the not-so-great tour guide on the second part of my Thailand tour journey. One annoyance on this trip was the homestay. Cooking at homestay was great but accommodations and entertainment were very poor. Intrepid should offer hotel accommodations as an alternative for interested travelers in the extra hot season as the sleeping mats were very thin and the fan did nothing to cool the place down (sleeping on second story did not help the situation).
