Why you'll love this trip
- Trek through part of Kyrgyzstan’s mountain scenery – a trekking paradise with over 90% of the country covered by mountains. The Tien Shan Mountain range expands across China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, is often considered the alternative to the famous Swiss Alps
- See stunning scenery every day – panoramas of alpine lakes, meadows, lush green pastures, fir tree forests and snowcapped mountains, with barely any tourists in sight.
- Follow the nomad's trail along the way, making encounters with them, learning about their nomadic life and if you are lucky, you'll see some wildlife that call this area home, including golden eagles, mountain goats, deer, foxes and more.
- Spend your nights away from modern civilisation listening to soothing crackling bonfires, staring into the Milky Way and tucking into peaceful camps in nature.
- Enjoy the convenience and expertise of a support crew and you can only take your day packs on the trek while everything else from setting up the tents, cooking meals and transporting your luggage to the next stop are taken care of by your local crew.

Is this trip right for you?
- This is a trekking trip. You'll need to be an experienced hiker and have a good level of fitness to enjoy this trip. Most trails are established trails with some sections a little steep and slippery, but nothing technical. Please refer to day to day itinerary for details about the trekking distances and elevation gains.
- You'll spend majority of your time in the mountains, so the temperature can get chilly, even in summer. Waterproof light weight jacket and sturdy hiking boots are essential.
- The overnight stays on the trek will be mostly in yurt camps and tents. Yurt camps will be multi-share and the tents will be set up by your crew (you are always welcome to help) and will be twin share. The conditions will be basic, with toilet tents set up separately and limited shower availability. We'll provide thin sleeping mats for the tent but you can also bring inflatable sleeping mattress for a little more sleeping comfort.
- This trip doesn't spend a lot of time in Bishkek. If you would like to spend more time in Bishkek before or after your trip, please consult your booking agent about booking additional accommodation.
